ARCHER GIOVANNI was bothered. He stared intently at the disappearing figure that was Ryan, his brown eyes blinking at what just happened.
Aanya glared at Arch. "Real smooth Arch." She scoffed, and got up, walking out of the dining room as well.
He sighed, running a hand through his blonde hair. Carter leaned back on his chair, raising one eyebrow. "I'm betting that wasn't the intended effect?"
Arch stared at Carter. "What the fuck are you talking about?"
Carter smiled lazily, his caramel eyes calculating. "What you said, all about her boobs being small, I'm guessing you meant it, but it wasn't because you thought she wouldn't be able charm him right?"
He struck gold. Arch broke his stare and looked away and gulped, his Adams apple bobbing. "Not exactly. I still do think she wouldn't be able to do it. I mean it's Ry. Awkwardness and flirting doesn't really mix."
"But it wasn't the original reason was it? You said all of that to stop her from doing it right? You took it too far this time Arch, your stupid crush almost got discovered."
Arch felt his cheeks get warm and he looked away. No one was supposed to really know and he high key regretted telling Carter on one of his drunken nights.
"Shut up." He scoffed, sighing. He put his head on the table. "She won't do it."
"Are you sure?" Carter challenged. "Ryan's changed you know? Back then she would've fought your fire with water, but now she'll fight fire with fire. Believe me."
Arch pursed his lips. "I know, but she won't. She can't. Bet on it."

ARCHER STARED at himself in the mirror, adjusting his bow tie, his obsidian Ralph Lauren suit contrasting with his pale face. His hair was styled neatly out of his face and his brown eyes flicked towards the approaching figure.
Carter approached Archer, matching Arch with a similar tux, but instead of him standing out, he blended neatly with it, mostly because of his raven hair.
"Where's Nora?" Carter asked Arch, glancing at the Cartier watch tied on his wrist. Arch sighed, plopping on his unmade bed. "Still getting ready." He huffed, laying on his back.
"You know sometimes I don't get you. You're whipped for Ryan - " "do not say whipped, I am not whipped. Fuck you." Arch counteracted, narrowing his eyes.
"Fine," Carter complied. "You like Ryan and yet you still date other girls. I mean I know I'm not the appropriate person to say this, but I kinda feel sorry for all the people you've dated."
"Needs my man," Arch replied lazily. "Physical needs. And not really, I've never told them I've loved them or anything. It's perfectly casual and yeah you're not one to talk."
"Pfft. Alright bro."
There was a knock on Archer's door after a few minutes and the blond got up from his cozy position on the bed to open it. A smiling Nora appeared, with a bunch of identically dressed men. Carter beamed at his football team, walking up to the door to high five some of them.
Nora greeted Arch with a small peck on his cheek, looking stunning with a pink Stella Maxwell bodycon to suit her skin tone. Her freckles were more accentuated from her makeup, her lips a nude pink.
"Hey Carter, you coming with us?" Frank, ALH's star linebacker asked, his black eyes twinkling. Archer raised a brow at Carter, putting an arm around a happy Nora.
Carter glanced at Arch before turning his attention to some of his teammates in the football team. "Nah man, y'all go with your dates and all, I'm going to bother Arch and his date all night long."
Arch sighed. He knew Carter wouldn't leave him alone. Considering Ryan's dare was nearing its commencement and Carter and Archer were more than interested to see how it went.
He took his phone out of his pocket and texted Ryan, asking her if she was in yet. She replied immediately, sending him a strict no.
He smiled at his friends, who waved them a small goodbye and walked on. "Are we going to leave now?" Nora asked sweetly, lacing her manicured hand with his. Arch turned towards her, "uhm, yeah let's go now."

ALH WAS FAMOUS for its back to school parties and one thing that made the students more happy was that they still included homecoming in it as well.
They used one of ALH's halls and spared no expense in order to make students feel welcome. Archer suspected it was mostly in order to kickstart their students' performance during the course of the school year. Apparently motivation and fun did a lot to a students grades.
He walked in, arm in arm with Nora and with Carter on the other side. The hall was decorated in a dark way, dozen crystalline chandeliers hanging from the ceilings. The double door entrance to the hall was spot lighted, drawing attention to anyone who entered. Upbeat music was playing in the background softly, and Arch could see the majority of the staff lingering in the shadows of the heavy draperies and curtains covering the floor to ceiling windows on either side.
Most of the students were here, except for a select few that were probably still getting ready. Some were hanging in the corners, some were dancing and some were drinking punch.
"Hey babe, do you mind getting me something to drink? I'm a bit parched." Nora questioned, smiling widely and sweetly in order to gain his favor. Arch nodded and returned the smile, motioning to Carter to come with him.
"So who is it?" Arch asked, staring at one of the dining tables pushed towards the side. His brown eyes moved from the punch bowl on the left towards meeting Carter's gaze. "Who's what?" Carter replied, perplexed. He poured himself a cup, bringing the cup to his lips.
"Ryan's 'target'." He said, emphasizing on the 'target' through a show of his hands.
Carter grinned. "Oh, that one. Take a guess?" Arch shook his head. "Aw, you're no fun." He jeered, although it was quite hushed. "So who is it?" Arch asked impatiently as he clicked his tongue, curiosity getting the best of him.
"Speak of the devil," Carter laughed, his eyes tearing away from Arch's gaze towards the double door entrance of the hall. Arch followed suit, looking over his shoulder.
Tate Sutton loomed in front of the entrance, his green eyed gaze fixed on the raven haired boy next to him; Lucas Grayson. It wasn't surprising to see a new girl latching on to Lucas' tux clad arm, who was also intently listening to what Tate was saying.
Tate Sutton hadn't really changed over the summer for Arch. They were friends, but they weren't as close as Carter was with Tate. Lucas on the other hand, he had preferred to stay out of his friendship circle.
Arch turned back, "so which one is it?" He raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. "Tate." Carter replied simply, "she'd or anyone would be stupid to even choose Lucas."
Arch couldn't help but agree. Lucas Grayson had more than a few skeletons in his closet and that was huge, considering everyone in this school had at least one skeleton in their closet.
Even Arch.
