Allie smiled and quickly took a cup of tea to the sofa, âDad, have some tea.â
Allieâs father was reading newspaper on the sofa. He put it down and looked at Allie lovingly, âItâs too late. You should wash up and go to sleep. Girls canât stay up too late.â
âOK.â Allie nodded sweetly, âI know, dad. You should also take care of yourself.â
âBy the way,â her father took a sip of tea and looked up and asked, âyou said you had seen your sister in the shopping mall last time. Do you know where she lives now?â
The smile on Allieâs face froze. She tried to repress her displeasure, âHow should I know? I wanted to talk more, but she seemed to be busy and wasnât willing to talk to me. If I hadnât met her in the shopping mall, we would not know that she has already come back.â
Her father sighed, âWell, we shouldnât let her live alone. If youâre not busy, I want you to inquire where she lives. I want to have a look. I think Iâd better persuade her to live with us. Otherwise, Iâll worry about her.â
Frowning, Allie was about to say something when she heard a cough behind her.
Sherley winked at her and walked to them with a big smile, âYouâre right. Itâs not safe for a single woman to live alone. Iâll have someone inquire about it. Birmingham isnât a big city. Itâll be easy to find her.â
âOK.â Allieâs father picked up the paper.
After going back to the bedroom, Allie sat on her bed, livid with rage, âMom, why did you promise to dad that you will find her back? It was the same last time when I told you ! saw that b***h and you told father afterwards. Why do you keep getting us in trouble?â
Shirley locked the door calmly and said slowly, âWhether you tell your father or not, she will come back. Itâs impossible that she wonât come to this house. Weâd better take the initiative to tell it to your father rather than let her take us by surprise and come back by herself. In this way, your father will think that we are thoughtful and kind.â
âIs that useful? Dad will reconsider about the heiress if she comes back.â
On hearing the words, Shirley frowned, with an ugly look on her face, and snorted, âIf I had been lucky enough to have a son, I wouldnât have let him choose between you and that girl. Fortunately, itâs not a big problem now. What could she have achieved having fooled around for so many years? As long as you can marry a good man, youâll be the only choice of the heir of the group.â
Allie was mollified by her motherâs words. She said proudly, âOf course. I bet she has only hooked up with some guy during the time she was away. Maybe she didnât dare to come back because she feels ashamed.â

Anna breathed a sigh of relief and gave him an insulated lunch box, âI made the chicken soup this morning. The lunch box can keep it warm till noon. Itâs for Matthew.â
Wayne nodded and took the lunch box from Anna.
Gabe, standing aside, goggled at them. This isnât the first time. The relationship between Mr. Wright and Ms. Gabriel is really interesting. Why does she care about Matthew and make food for him? Why does Mr. Wright allow her to do so?
âOh, and this.â Anna gave him a notebook the size of a hand. âThese are the ingredients needed and the detailed instructions of making soup. You can show it to your cook. I may not have time to cook for Matthew lately. I have to work out the project plan.
Iâm really sorry.â
Wayne also took it, âItâs all right.â
âThen Iâll go back to the hotel.â Anna nodded and smiled naturally. Then she went to the elevator.
âAnna Gabriel.â Wayne suddenly said in a low voice, stopping her. Anna turned around confusedly, âAnything else, Mr. Wright?â
âIâll send people to pick up Tammy and you this Saturday morning. Matthew hope that you can come over and have some fun.â
âWhat?â Anna was astonished, âAt...At your house?â âHave you got a plan already?â âUm...Not really. But the anniversary project.â âYou can do it there. Iâll count it as overtime.â
Wayne said resolutely as if he wouldnât take no for an answer, âIs there any problem? | never force others. Forget it if you donât want to.â
âNo... No problem.â Anna said in awkwardness. Never force others? We are in a totally unequal situation right now. With the bet and the unsigned contract, what else could I do? â.â biele mnout of the comnanu whenever he wants? Can I say no to my boss?
