Chapter 87: Chapter 87

A Mouth Full of Blood.Words: 13293

Oliver sat with his legs pulled up to his chest and his face buried into his forearms. He was curled up in the corner of the bed with his back against the wall.

He had been like this for five hours.

Since his breakdown, he hasn't spoken a single word.

Vinny was sitting next to him and every so often he would gently rub his back and plant a long kiss into his hair, just so they could feel one another's touch.

Madison and Duke were sitting on chairs at the other end of the small room.

They have already ordered people to clear out the wrecked room and had everything put back to normal. Oliver has not yet apologized for what he did but they knew that when his mood perked up a bit he would be very apologetic.

He didn't need to apologise, they understood completely. But Oliver wouldn't forgive himself that easily.

He already felt embarrassed, but he was still emotionally unstable.

He was still shaking and finding it hard to process his thoughts.

He couldn't believe how psychologically damaged he felt. His mind had started overreacting on small things as he felt like he was going to burst into tears at any minute.

He hated this, he had to pull himself together.

If not for himself, then for Vinny.

He hasn't looked at his soulmate for five hours and he was starting to ache. He could feel Vinny's touch every now and then, but they both needed to be close again.

So when Vinny lifted his hand and started rubbing Oliver's back once more, Oliver then leaned to the side and rested gently against him.

He didn't lift his head but Vinny knew he was making progress.

Oliver would need time to heal and he was prepared to give him all the time in the world.

Madison and Duke were watching the boys. They were extremely concerned about Oliver and asked for a therapist to come and have a chat with him, that's if he would talk.

He probably doesn't need one, but they would rather get him back on track today than let all of this mess with his head.

He has been through a lot, he needs help and they know he won't be afraid to admit it.

Vinny looked troubled too.

Feeling all of Oliver's emotions must be terrible, especially when all he wants to do is fix it.

But he can't.

John woke up about an hour ago, Duke gave him some human blood which immediately settled his cravings for Oliver's.

John then went back to sleep so he and Oliver could talk when they both had fresh minds.

After speaking to the therapist, the Vanderwood's will take Oliver home and look after him.

Just then, there were three gentle knocks on the door.

Everyone apart from Oliver looked up as a woman walked in.

She looked in her Mid thirties with cropped brown hair. She had kind eyes and a calming expression.

"Hello," She said politely whilst shutting the door behind her. She was trying to stay relaxed in the presence of the Vanderwood family. Just to speak to them was an honour. "I'm Mollie, the NHS therapist"

Vinny then frowned at his parents. They did not get a therapist for Oliver.

"Son, before you protest, this could be good for him," Duke said whilst standing up.

They seemed to forget that Oliver could hear them and his heart was thumping in his chest.

Did they think he was this screwed up that he needed a professional to fix him?

Yes, he lashed out and spent the last five hours ignoring the world. But this wasn't permanent.

Vinny glared at Mollie, which did make her nervous. But her main goal was to help Oliver.

And by the looks of things, he seemed pretty upset.

"Am I alright to get started?" She asked.

"Of course" Madison smiled as Duke sat back down.

Mollie then walked over to the bed and sat down on the end of it. She connected her fingers together whilst glancing at Oliver.

She watched as Vinny leant his head in close and whispered in Oliver's ear, so they couldn't hear what he was saying.

"Don't worry, I know you don't need a therapist but my parents are overreacting. This is only a one-time thing"

Oliver listened to Vinny's deep whispers and he was glad his soulmate understood that his freak out wasn't something that occurs often.

After hesitating, he then slowly lifted his head.

Vinny's heart melted at the sight of Oliver's big green eyes. But he looked incredibly tired, judging by the dark circles underneath them.

Oliver looked at Vinny and felt the same emotion at the sight of his gentle smile.

Mollie had never seen the Master smile before, but it was sweet and made his eyes slightly happier.

"Hello Oliver," She said kindly.

He looked up and for some reason, he was happy that she wasn't too close. He just needed Vinny for the time being.

"Hi," He said quietly.

"My name is Mollie, it's lovely to meet you"

"It's nice to meet you too"

So Oliver was speaking, that was a good sign for Vinny's parents.

"I'm just going to ask a few questions if that's okay with you?" Mollie had a very gentle speaking voice and one that Oliver found himself relaxing too.

He nodded as Vinny put an arm around his shoulders and held him close.

"So, you have been through rather a lot of change recently" She smiled. "But at the moment, things may seem to be a little overwhelming for you to keep up with. In your viewpoint, what is the main problem that has you feeling so emotionally challenged?"

And here it is, the moment Oliver had to spill his issues out and into words.

He bit the inside of his lip and for a moment, Vinny thought that he might not answer, but Oliver didn't mind talking openly about it. He knew it would help.

"My parents," he said as he looked at his hands. "That's the hardest thing to cope with"

Mollie nodded, showing that she understood.

"I know your father is in this hospital, how does that make you feel?"

"kind of helpless I guess. I feel responsible"

"Responsible for what?"

Oliver let out a little sigh, he could feel his problems rising.

"He doesn't like his current living situation. I feel like I'm being selfish and taking away what he really wants out of life. I feel responsible for making him miserable"

Vinny watched as Oliver's eyes dimmed. He didn't realise he felt that way.

"Have you asked him what he wants?" She asked.

"He told me that he thinks I'm not spending enough time with him but when I nearly lost him this morning, I felt awful and wanted to put things right but I thought it was too late" Oliver's heart still throbbed at the events of today.

"So earlier you became very angry," Mollie said, changing the subject. She could see that Oliver was starting to get upset again. "Can you tell me what triggered this?"

Oliver reached up and rubbed his eyes, they were stinging from the lack of sleep.

"I don't know. I just seemed very fed up of not being able to control the situation. I didn't want to get hurt again by someone I'm supposed to trust. But I-I just couldn't stop" Oliver now started to feel incredibly guilty for his actions. He then turned to Madison and Duke, who were listening with patience. "I'm so sorry, I feel so embarrassed"

"No Oliver don't be silly," Madison said whilst sitting forwards. "We completely understand and you do not need to apologise"

"But I broke-"

"Oliver, we're glad you could finally let off steam," Duke said. "Maybe we should've stopped you before you broke a lot of expensive things... but you were defending yourself. And you don't have all of that anger building up inside you anymore"

"Just- wait, is my dad okay?" He then asked.

"Yes, yes He's fine. He drank the blood he needed and is now sleeping. There's honestly nothing for you to worry about anymore, okay?"

Oliver nodded and sat back against the wall.

Vinny was casually watching him, like always. He then leant his head in closer and decided to show him some love.

"You're so beautiful" He whispered. "I'm so lucky to have you"

Oliver felt his chest fill with affection as Vinny could feel how much it meant for Oliver to hear that.

He turned his head so their noses brushed against each other and planted a sweet kiss onto his lips.

Mollie saw how the light returned to Oliver's eyes when Vinny spoke to him and it was even better to see his body language loosen up when they're affectionate.

Oliver then pulled back, but only enough so he could whisper.

"I love you"

Vinny smiled and tightened his grip around Oliver's shoulders.

"I know, I love you too"

Oliver smiled and it felt so good for Vinny to see that. He gazed at his mouth for as long as he could. His smile was so captivating and addictive.

"Oliver," Mollie said, getting his attention. She knew now that he was a little better and it was clear that he didn't need her, he needed Vinny. "Thank you for talking to me and don't be afraid to show your emotions"

He nodded, knowing that was the best thing to prevent his outburst from happening again.

"Thank you, Mollie," He said whilst watching her get down off the bed.

She gave him a warm smile before turning to Duke and Madison as they stood up.

"Shall we chat outside for a minute?" Duke asked before opening the door and letting his wife go first.

They all went out and into the corridor. Passers-by double took at the Vanderwood's, not expecting them to be here.

"So, is there anything for us to worry about?" Duke asked, referring to Oliver.

"No, nothing major. Just keep an eye on him over the next few weeks and see if he is adapting properly to these changes. Also, make sure he talks to his dad openly about how he feels. But if I'm honest, Vinny seems to be doing my job for me" Mollie smiled. It was a privilege to talk to the Vanderwood's, and Oliver.

Madison smiled at her husband, it was nice to hear that.

"Vinny really does care about him" Duke smiled.

Even if Oliver is the only person he cares about, they're just happy that Vinny has a heart.

"Thank you, Mollie," Madison then said as she politely shook her hand.

When Duke had said his goodbye's and the therapist was walking down the corridor, they both turned and entered the room.

They looked up to see the boys tightly embracing each other.

It was nothing more or nothing less than a cuddle but to them, it felt incredibly comforting.

"Right boys, are you ready to go home?" Duke asked. He was going to suggest that Oliver went to see his dad, but he'll be sleeping and Oliver needed a lot of rest too.

They both untangled themselves from each other as Vinny helped Oliver off the bed. He was still feeling very weak.

"Come on then" Madison smiled before reaching up and ruffling their hair.

Vinny dodged out the way, but Oliver smiled.

"Don't touch me" Vinny mumbled.

Madison grinned wider as she stepped forwards and wrapped her arms around Vinny's waist. They knew that the best medicine for Oliver would be if everyone acted like normal.

The look on Vinny's face was quite entertaining.

"Oliver, get it off me"

This even caused Duke to laugh as Madison lifted her head, looking insulted.

"You know what, you can clean the fireplace for that," She said before pulling back.

Vinny knew she wasn't joking. It wasn't the first time she has made him do that.

"No," He said bluntly before taking Oliver's hand and following his parents out and into the corridor.

Madison gave him an amused smile, but she was being serious.

just then, Oliver stopped when Jed shoved a chocolate bar in his face.

"Eat it," He said, knowing that a bit of sugar would help considering he hasn't eaten since yesterday.

Oliver took it with a smile.

"Thanks," He said as he opened it and gave half to Vinny, knowing he hadn't eaten anything either.

They then set off down the corridor as Jed led them a different way. He didn't think Oliver would want to cope with the many news reporters and photographers who were crowding up outside.

Somehow, they had heard about Oliver's breakdown and it was all over the news. Duke was ridiculously angry and couldn't wait to get his hands on whoever told them.

It's not fair that the paparazzi feed on the negative things.

But Oliver was feeling much better. He was still a little weak minded from everything that had gone on, but he knew after getting the sleep he has lost will help to clear and refresh him.

* * * * *

When the Vanderwood's finally pulled up outside the mansion, there were crowds of people with banners telling Oliver how much they loved him and banners telling John to get better soon.

It was actually quite strange how the public got so obsessed, but it made Oliver smile.

"I like that one," He said as they waited for the gates to open. Vinny looked at what he was pointing to.

Someone had made a poster that said "Smile Vinny".

"Hilarious" He mumbled whilst crossing his arms.

"Do you even know what a smile is?" Duke joked, making Oliver chuckle.

Vinny glared at him although he was happy that Oliver seemed a lot more cheery now. Even though he still looked exhausted.

As the car started driving down the side of the mansion, they were all very thankful to be home. it was quite sad that John couldn't join them just yet, but he was safe and on the mend.

Duke was going to make Vinny teach John everything he should know about being a vampire so it gives them some bonding time. He has noticed that Vinny never really talked to John, so maybe it was about time they got to know each other. Also, if Vinny was with John then Oliver would also be with John. That way, they can spend much more time together.

He hoped it would be a good idea and not backfire in his face.

But why would it?
