Kaira's POV:
The whole day, I didn't eat anything so in the middle of the night, I am in the kitchen finding something to eat.
" So.." I got startled hearing the voice. I turned to see Alessandro.
" Are you finding something to eat?"
" I guess so."
He took out two chips packet from a drawer and passed one and took one for himself.
" Aren't you going to question me about being Leonessa?" I asked him as I settled on the counter.
" No, I already knew it was you."
I stared at him.
" I caught you sneaking that day and to confirm my thoughts the other day you opened the path as Leonessa, which no one knew except Dad and grandpa."
" So why didn't you told anyone about it?"
" It wasn't my place to tell."
" But didn't you doubt that I would have planned something or maybe tried to escape."
" You had many opportunities to escape still you didn't and if you would have planned something, still I didn't had any say, you have the freedom to do anything you want."
" Finally, someone who have some sense."
" Lorenzo also knew that you were Leonessa."
I raised my eyebrows.
" He identified your voice and eyes and to clarify his doubt he say the leonessa tatoo on your shoulder."
Wow! And I was dumb to think, no one knew about me.
" So why didn't you all tried to ask me to go to save Aria?"
" Because we couldn't save one of our sister by risking another."
" I never knew you considered me as your sister." I said while rolling my eyes.
He settled beside me on the counter.
" We all do consider you as our sister, Kaira so take that out of your heart, even Valentino. Everyone missed you when you where not home, dad and Lorenzo rarely came to home. Now when you are back from them we are frequently seeing them otherwise we would cry out eyes out still they didn't used to come. Francesco tried to find you on every app so that he could find atleast one photo of yours and see the number of gifts Valentino has kept in his room for your each birthday, what he got for Aria, the same thing is kept for you too. And about Antonio, he didn't knew about you."
" And what about you?"
" I still sleep with that teddy, you gift me on my birthday."
" I don't believe if all of you missed me, you would have atleast came once."
" You think, we didn't tried. Whenever we tried to come, mom asked us not to because you didn't wished to meet any of us. You had started hating us and could have killed any of us if we even tried to meet you. She told us, you were happy where you were."
" And how did you know I was happy?"
" Mom told us about you, every time, she used to come after visiting you."
" Visiting me? But no one of you came to ever visit me."
" What are you saying, Kaira?" He looked at me in shock.
" I am saying the truth. I waited for everyone of you to atleast meet me once in these past 11 years but none of you came."
" Fuck it." He ran a hand in his hair.
" Then you didn't got any letter which I sent you, did you?"
" What? No."
" I can't believe this. Mom used to go every month to visit you, we sent so many things with you, that's why you didn't replied to any of our letters because you never recieved them."
" Which letters?"
" We all used to write you letters? Even Valentino but when after even 2 years we didn't got any reply of yours and mom said that you hated us all, didn't wanted to ever see anyone of us, and used to tear our letters without even seeing them, we stopped writing. Soon, it all turned into anger, how you tried to kill Aria and that also because you thought that Aria was taking your attention, then you started hating us, and all the things which she used to tell us about you. I will not justify Valentino's action but all he did was a defence mechanism."
Tears started welling in my eyes. The side which I was trying to hide was opening.
" We even sent gifts to you on your birthdays when mom used to go. The reason why we called you back was also this, that mom died and you would be alone if no one visits you and you hated all of us so it won't be favourable to go visit you."
I hugged Alessandro and he hugged me too.
I cried on his chest.
" I always thought no one remembered me. No one cares about me. You know, how lonely I used to feel, you know what happened-" Suddenly the gate opened and I pulled myself wiping my tears.
The lights turned on and I looked in front of me was my..... whole family.
I saw my two uncle's coming first along their wifes then children and next was my grandma.
When I saw my grandpa, I wanted to just jump on him. I used to love him the most and he used to love me the most among all of the children.
But I didn't do anything, I just stilled.
My uncle's and elder siblings ignored me while my grandma, aunts and younger cousins gave me a disgusted look.
Why not my grandma's favourite was Aria.
" What are you doing here?" One of my aunt's asked with that disgusted look.
" Dancing, wanna join." I said sarcastically with a sarcastic smile.
" Such a mannerless girl, it was better if you stayed in that school only, far from my kids."
" Oh, right, I didn't had to see all of your faces but let's just say it wasn't in my hands." I said while crossing my legs and munching the chips.
" How dare you talk to my mom like that?" One of my younger cousins said whose name, I forgot.
" Come to me, I will teach you how to reply sarcastically."
" Kaira!" My grandma shouted.
" Grandma!" I too shouted with a smile.
" How dare you shout at your grandmother like that?" My other aunty said.
" Shouted? I thought she was greeting me by shouting so to reply I too shouted." I said while making an innocent face.
" What's going on?" Dad came from my stairs.
Others too followed him.
" Roberto, your daughter is very mannerless, looks like she is not taught how to behave in front of elders." Grandma bitched about me and I bite my cheeks trying not to smile.
Dad looked at me for answers while Alessandro hit my shoulder with his shoulder lightly to make me stop laughing.
" This women asked me what was I doing in my own house to which I answered. Then she started saying that I should have not came here and all that shit and I told her, I didn't even wanted to be here and face them all but it wasn't in my hands. So they are calling me mannerless." I said with a pout making myself looking innocent.
" Grandma." Aria ran from upstairs and hugged grandma which distracted everyone from my scenario.
" Kaira, you should behave in front of elders." Alessandro whispered.
" Ask them to behave properly with me first." And he shook his head.
" Aria, oh my darling, how much did I miss you." Grandma said while kissing Aria on her forehead.
Aunts and younger cousins also greeted her nicely with a hug.
While the elder one's, uncle's and grandpa just nodded their head.
After everyone greeted everyone, grandpa asked dad," So when where you going to tell us, you bought Kaira back?"
" I was going to-"
" When? The same thing you did before too Roberto, you sent her without telling anyone. If we don't have any right in speaking, cut the relations, don't put this act." Grandpa said angrily.
And he was the most scary person, I have ever seen. Even I shut my mouth, seeing him so angry.
" From today onwards, Kaira will stay with us."
What the fuck! I am not staying with that old women.
" No." Everyone (my real family) said at the same time.
Everyone looked shocked including me, from when did they started caring about me.
Grandpa raised his eyebrow.
" I don't want to go anywhere." I said grabbing everyone's attention.
" Why?"
You know what they are pissing me off.
" Why do I need to give you any reason, who are you to me? Next time before asking me anything, ask yourself who are you to me?" I said and for a minute everyone was silent and everyone was shocked. Even my elder cousins and siblings, uncle's and dad, who showed no emotions earlier also.
They might be shocked because I shouted on grandpa. No one dares to even speak a word against him, after all he is Dante DeLuca, the ex capo of Italian, Greece and Roman Mafia's, those Mafia's were handed to my father, second uncle and third uncle respectively.
" Is this how you behave, Kaira?" I heard a voice. I looked up to see one of my elder cousin. Maybe, I know him, he was Andrea, second eldest, means after Lorenzo, he was the eldest.
Wait, wasn't I his favourite? Who cares?
" Yes, this is how I behave. Well, you must not know because you never visited me in 11 years."
Fuck! My brain is fucking gone crazy. I am telling you, don't talk to me when I am on my periods, I became fucking crazy, emotional and I have dangerous mood swings.
" You choose it for yourself, you tried to kill Aria." One of my younger cousin said, whom I didn't remember name, maybe it was Emilio, I guess.
" You, kid! Shut your mouth when elders are speaking." I said in full sass, everyone's jaw dropped.
" First of all, I am elder than you." He said.
" Have anyone asked you? No, right? So shut your mouth and sit in the corner."
" What have gotten in her?" One of my uncle's whispered.
Who was just by my glare.
" Why am I seeing dad in her?" Another uncle whispered.
Truth. I was an exact copy of my dad, which meant exact copy of my grandpa because among the three brothers my dad was the most similar to my grandpa.
" Let's get you to sleep." Lorenzo said and came near me.
" No."
" Kaira." He warned me.
" I said no."
He put me on his shoulder and as soon as my ribs came in contact with his shoulder, I winced, he immediately left me.
" What happened? Are you fine?" He asked.
" Yeah." I tried to go but he hold my wrist.
" From the time, you have come, I have seen everywhere we touch your ribs, you wince in pain, are you hurt?"
" No, I am not."
" You are lying."
" I said na, let me go."
" Francesco and Valentino hold her hands." I tried my best to get out of their grip, I even tried to kick them but they hold my legs too.
Lorenzo pulled my shirt up slightly from my stomach and my whole family gasped.
Valentino and Francesco's grip on my hands loosened and I pushed them away.
" This was the first and the last time, you forcefully did something, got it?" I said in anger.
They ignored my sentence and asked instead, " How did this happen because it doesn't look like it happened during your training."
" Which training?" My grandpa, uncles and elder cousins asked.
" Are you hiding things from us, Roberto?" Grandpa asked in a scary tone.
" Dad, I got to know about this a few hours ago and still I haven't gotten answers." Dad answered.
" Kaira, sit down and answer is." Grandpa said.
Why are these people so irritating.
" No, I won't."
" Lorenzo and Andrea, pick her up and bring her to the couch."
Lorenzo and Andrea started taking me, I tried a lot but nothing worked, they were stronger.
They forcefully made me sit on the couch.
" Kaira, tell us the truth." Grandpa ordered.
I shook my head and he gave me a very very scary look, which bought shivers to my spine.
I tried to control but my eyes filled with water, I was trying my best to not burst out but I couldn't help and cry.
Everyone panicked seeing me crying. Lorenzo immediately hugged me.
" Don't cry, princess." I felt a hand caressing my back which was Andrea.
" Wait, why is she crying?" I heard one of my younger brother ask.
" I don't know maybe due to dad." My younger uncle said.
" But I didn't do anything." Grandpa justified still panicking seeing me crying.
