"Damnit! Let me off this time, I'll repay you later I promise!" Lachlan yelled out as he landed on one of Nikolai's properties again. I tried to hold back my laughter but it came out silently as he tried to talk his way out of paying him.
"What are you laughing at?! This is serious!" He said exasperatedly as he threw his hands up. He was almost bankrupt and was very close to losing.
"Sor-sorry man. Got-ta pay up tho-though." Nikolai told him sincerely. Lachlan scoffed and turned to me.
"Please help me! I'll do anything!" He begged. At this point I couldn't keep the huge smile off of my face at this ridiculous situation.
'Fine. I'll think about what I want from you later.' I told him and gave him some of my cash. Nikolai and I both had quite a bit of money in our hands, Lachlan however was consistently landing on our properties as he didn't have all that many on the board, so it was really just a game between Nikolai and I.
"Alrightyyy~" Lachlan said in a flirtatious voice and winked at me. I just rolled my eyes and coughed out a laugh. He was just something else.

The game ended with Nikolai winning. Lachlan was bankrupt pretty quickly and pouted the whole time he was out.
I had just gotten up to get some food out for lunch when I heard a knock at the door. Nobody has ever came to my home so I was skeptical about who it could be.
"Do you want me to get that?" I heard Lachlan shouted as the knocking turned to banging. I scurried to the door and grabbed my mask, slipping it on before bracing myself and opening it.
"Lovely afternoon gentleman! May I come in?" Rylan said as he stood with three of his guards at his side. My body immediately became tense and I felt my face pale. What could he possibly want?
I stepped aside and let them in, keeping a careful eye on Rylan.
"I'm famished! It looks like you were about to eat, we're going to join you!" He told me. I nodded carefully and went back to the kitchen to finish setting everything up.
Lachlan and Nikolai had come to see who was here before breaking out in conversation with Rylan. Rylan's guards were looking around my house with a disgusted look on their faces. My house wasn't the most posh or pretty but it got the job done.
After I had retrieved plates for all of the guests, I motioned that lunch was ready and stood back as they ransacked the food. Rylan and his guards to huge helpings and scattered food about messily. Gosh they needed to leave before I snapped at them.
Nikolai tried to help clean up as he went but I tapped his shoulder telling him it wasn't necessary and to just continue on with what he was doing.
Soon enough, we all sat down together and ate. Rylan talked a lot, asking Nikolai and Lachlan about their time here so far and how things were going.
I stayed silent, which wasn't hard, and focused on my food, praying that this would be over soon. I looked up as I felt someone foot gently tap mine from under the table and locked eyes with Nikolai.
"Are you ok?" He mouthed to me. I nodded and looked to Lachlan to see him laughing with Rylan. When my eyes returned back to Nikolai I saw that his tattoo was shimmering and moving around, like it was traveling up his body. I wonder what that means, I'll have to ask later.
Eventually, the lunch from hell ended and Rylan and his gang left. I sighed in relief and immediately locked the door so they couldn't pop back in. I shakily walked back to the kitchen, only to be boxed against a counter by long and slender arms.
"What happened between the two of you?" Lachlan asked me softly as his face was inches away from mine. I felt extremely vulnerable in this position but I wanted to stay close to him. My stomach fluttered softly when I saw the worry and some other emotion fill his eyes.
I was snapped out of my daze with Nikolai clearing his throat. His hand was extended with some paper and a pen he had found.
Lachlan moved slightly further away from me as he let me turn around so I could write on the hard counter top. He was still close though and Nikolai was just to my right, both of them wanting to know what was up.
'I'm not ready to tell you that. It has to do with my voice though.' I answered simply. I saw Nikolai's eyebrows scrunch as he thought and his tattoo became shimmery again.
'What does it mean when your tattoo does that?' I asked him, trying to divert the attention off of myself. He explained that it meant he was deep in thought and he explained a few more that he had noticed. Like when he was stressed his tattoo became grey, or mad was reds and oranges, and the last one he told me was that purple meant he was really nervous.
I thought about it a bit before asking him what pink was, as I had remembered seeing it earlier that day.
"Oh that! I know this one." Lachlan said with an evil smile on his face. Nikolai was spluttering and trying to shush him but it didn't work. "It means he loves ya, babe and he thinks something is like really cute." Lachlan informed me with a wink. No way, he really thought that way about me?
