Eudora picked up the envelope. It had indeed been left behind by Tina.
âIâm leaving! Eudora, Iâm sorry! You donât need to search for me, because I wonât let any of you find me. I entrust Christopher into your hands now, I wish the both of you happiness!â
Eudoraâs hands were trembling, âTina, this idiot!â
Christopher was confused, âWhatâs the matter? What happened to Tina?â
âShe knows about her not being able to have children!â
âWhat?â Christopher was stunned. âDid she find out back in the hospital? No wonder sheâs been acting so weird recently! Where did she go? Iâll go and find her!â
Eudora shook her head as she replied, âI donât know. She didnât say anything.â
Christopher snatched the letter from Eudoraâs hand. He read it, and his expression instantly froze.
âTina! Am I this kind of person in your heart?â
Eudora frowned as she said, âThereâs no time to think about this. Iâll ask Charlie to dispatch people to help search for her. Meanwhile, try to think about where she could have gone!â
Christopher nodded and hurriedly got up from his wheelchair.
âYouâ¦â Eudora subconsciously stopped him. âYour wound.â
âIâm fine! Iâm feeling much better now.â
After taking a few quick steps forward, Christopher frantically turned around, as if he had suddenly remembered something.
âIâm sorry for putting you in such a difficult position!â
Eudora shook her head. âWhat are you talking about? Tina is my little sister. Letâs not talk about this, as itâs more urgent to find her now!â
After watching Christopher leave, Eudora hurriedly contacted Charlie, and asked him to utilize the connections that Amos had previously left behind.
After that, she recalled Tinaâs emotions from the day before. She felt anxious, and was worried that Tina would take things too hard on herself, hence she left the mountains with the children.
According to Charlieâs message, Tina had not bought any train or flight tickets, which meant that she had not left Rosaville City yet.
Since it had been a sudden incident, she must have found a hotel to stay in.
Hence, Eudora instructed Charlie to search a few hotels. The final result was naturally in vain as well.
Charlie frowned, âMadam, maybe Miss Tina had left by boat?â
Eudora shook her head, âHave you searched all of the hotels?â
âThereâs still the Valiant East Groupâs hotels left that we havenât searched.â
Eudoraâs eyes lit up, âThe most dangerous place is the safest; letâs go take a look there.â
At the hotel entrance, Charlie went straight to make inquiries at the reception desk.
Eudora led the two children to stand and wait on one side of the lobby. The clock had just struck noon, and there werenât a lot of people in the lobby.
All of a sudden, a few masked men rushed in with knives in their hands.
âDonât move! Take out all your valuables.â
Eudoraâs heart shook with fear. She quickly held the two kids in her arms tightly.
The young lady at the front desk immediately raised her hands up in panic.
Charlie clenched his fists, his eyes flitting over the robbers. He was just waiting for them to come over for him to strike them.
The robbers looked as though they were about to come near him. However, in an instant, they turned and lurched towards Eudora instead.
She instinctively wanted to escape, but the ice cold blade had already been placed on her neck.
âDonât move! Otherwise Iâll kill you with just one move with my knife.â
Eudora hurriedly covered the eyes of her two kids, âI wonât move, but please donât hurt my children.â
The man snorted and said, âPut down the children, then get up and follow me.â
Eudora couldnât wait to let go of the children, as her current situation could mean trouble for them too. Upon hearing that, she immediately placed the children down.
âMom!â Juju looked at Eudora desperately, and Sugar Bun had already started crying.
âDonât cry!â Eudora mustered a smile towards the two kids. âMom is fine, Mom wants to play a game with the two of you now, alright?â
Juju obviously did not believe her. She rubbed her eyes and looked at Eudora in a daze.
âMom⦠â
âNaomi George, I am commanding you right now to take good care of your little brother. Mom wants to play a game with you two, so hurry and go over to that Uncle Charlie over there.â
Sugar Bun was still young, blinking his eyes with innocence.
Juju, however, refused to budge.
âNaomi! Are you not going to listen to Mom anymore? I will be sad! Didnât you promise Dad to always listen to me, and that you will take good care of your little brother?â
Juju pursed her lips, and wiped away the tears from her eyes.
Ordinary children might not be as sensitive as Juju, but she had gone through too much since she was little. She knew that her mother was not playing a game with them, but still she listened to Eudora and led Sugar Bun away towards Charlie.
Charlie looked anxiously at Eudora. He wanted to rescue her, but the shimmering blade was aimed at her neck, so he didnât have the courage to do so!
Just as he was thinking about that, the robber had begun bringing Eudora outside.
âCome with us!â
If Eudora had initially thought that these thugs had just been looking for a hostage in her, she was now completely certain that these people were actually targeting her.
They had just used robbery as a cover-up.
Who could have done this? The answer was obvious! It was Sebastian, that useless idiot Eudora secretly clenched her fists, and slowly followed behind the men.
Charlie quickly handed over the two children to the receptionist, saying, âPlease look after the kids for me.â
Then, he quickly gave chase.
Seeing that the two thugs were about to get Eudora onto a car, Charlie thought that it was already too late for him to save her. He frantically rushed forward to try and rescue her, only to hear a crack in the next second.
Eudora, who had been under the threat of the blade, suddenly turned around in a swift motion. Before the thug could even react, she gave a roundhouse kick at the hilt of the blade.
The sharp blade made a huge cut across the thugâs face. At the sudden surge of pain, he dropped the blade with a clang onto the floor.
Charlieâs eyes were widened in shock!
He had once heard that Amos had used to teach Eudora how to defend herself, but it was the first time to see her in action.
Her movements were smooth and fluid like flowing water, without any hesitation at all.
She was too amazing!
Just as he was deep in thought, Eudora had already escaped from the clutches of the thugs. Charlie quickly rushed forwards to help pin down the two thugs with Eudora, and beat them up until they were heavily bruised.
After they were finished beating them up, Eudora clapped her hands and said, âCharlie, get two people to return these two thugs back to Sebastian!â
Charlie was taken aback by her words, âDo you mean that these two thugs are Sebastianâs henchmen?â
Eudora pursed her lips, and Charlie immediately understood where this was going, âThat would be too much!â
âIt doesnât matter. Sending his people here means that heâs already panicking. Thereâs still more to come!â
Charlie nodded.
Eudora naturally did not forget that they were here to search for Tina. After getting rid of the two henchmen, she was about to enter the hotel again when, suddenly, one of the thugs got to his feet and grabbed the blade on the floor. He lunged forward from behind towards her.
Eudora and Charlie noticed that something was amiss, but it was already too late for them to dodge.
The blade shimmered past with a cold flash and it was about to stab Eudora in the body. All of a sudden, the thug fell and the blade dropped to the ground as his grip loosened.
Charlie kicked the man angrily, saying, âHow dare you!â
Eudora, however, anxiously scanned the surroundings and asked, âIs someone there?â
