Dev are the saviours of earth, Dev sustains human life through rains. Rains are only source of food and water, for sustainability of humans. They retain human living and also for plants and animals. He thanked Devendra and continued his ablutions and pujas. Finishing his final prayers to lord Shiv, he went into deep meditation, his soul leaving his body. Devendra stood saluting him and praying for his soul to reach moksha. Meanwhile Devi Lakshmi finished performing asanas in her first stage, entered into "Niyama" stage. Yagnavalkya started explaining about second stage,"Niyama means observances and duties performed for spiritual enlightenment. Five niyamas are saucha, santosha, tapas, swadhyaya and iswarapranidhana. One's mind should be pure and he should fill it with positive thoughts. Saucha is not only foundation for body health but also a doorway for tranquil meditation. It can be done by avoiding food such as masalas that increase lust and anger in us. A healthy body breeds a healthy mind. Both combinedly can only give a happy life. It's also useful to maintain positive attitude and positive life.Santosha means contentment. It means happiness, delight or joy. One should be happy with what one has. He should not increase greed on materialistic things that are not even permanent.
