What's something students worry most about?
Grades?
Exams?
Studies?
Well, as someone who had practically no friends, let alone a significant other, the event I hate most is prom...
Remember that one awkward kid who didn't dance with anyone and instead stood in one corner the whole time? That was me.
Now that the academy was announcing a school ball, I was more anxious than ever.
Not only could I not dance due to my lack of experience (totally not because no one's ever asked me out before), but I had no dance partner...
In the novel, this event was able to spark something between Leonas and Alisa. Now that Blair has joined, I'm not sure who Leonas would dance with... not to mention, Elise would probably be fighting for his attention as well.
If it were up to old me, I would just stay back in the dorms alone while everyone went to this dance... but Elise was so hyped up for it...
"N/N, come on! Which dress do you think looks better on me?"
I couldn't reject her after all...
"Uhm... the one on your left. The red one. It compliments your eyes..."
Elise is pretty. I'm sure she'd have no problem getting a date even if the crown prince didn't want to dance with her.
As someone with average looks, dressing up wasn't that normal. Imagine spending hours on your makeup and looking bland compared to someone who looked like that naturally..
I sigh. While my new body didn't look ugly, compared to the main cast, I was merely a mortal walking on the same ground as gods...
"N/N, do you have a partner for the ball?"
"Huh? No, I don't. I don't think I'll even be going..."
"What?! You have to come!"
"Do I really have to though...? It's not like I can dance..."
Elise shakes her head. Once she's made up her mind, she never changes it, and I'm speaking from experience.
Elise grabs a dress from one of the hangers and passes it to me.
"Wear this. I got it made for you a couple days ago."
"Uhm... okay...?"
"Great. I'll meet you outside your dorm once it's time to go."
I had an hour left before it was time. At least I could ponder on what to do while everyone else was dancing...
My single self was wallowing in self pity last time at prom. For my second chance at life, it'd be a pity to waste an event like this...
I stare at the dress on my bed. It looked nothing short of elegant. There were a few jewels forming patterns that were embedded on the dress. I guess there's no harm wearing it now...
I unbuttoned my clothes and dropped them to the floor. I picked up the dress and slipped it on, zipping up the back of the dress.
I checked it in the mirror.
"Woah..."
I knew my body was above average looking, but this dress made me... pretty. The owner of this body had pretty decent looks.
I do a little twirl, but felt embarrassed afterwards. Who am I kidding? This academy is filled with beautiful people...
I covered my face and knelt on the ground. Seriously... why did I even think of doing that...? I totally look like a narcissist now... is it really so wrong to appreciate this body's beauty though?
I sigh for the who-knows-what time. I hear a knock on my door, and I open it to see... Alisa and Blair?
"Oh, Y/N. The dress looks really good on you..."
Alisa says, her face tinting red.
"I agree..."
Blair continued.
I took this time to take in the appearances of the two in front of me. I've only ever seen Blair in her uniform, and Alisa in casual clothing a few times...
Seeing the two dressed in extravagant clothing was really breathtaking.
"Thanks, you two... you look pretty too."
I smile. Blair's face gets a little red.
"Thanks, Y/N."
Alisa replies.
"Lady Elise should be here any time now..."
Just then, a certain villainess walks in.
"I'm here."
"..!"
I know I picked that dress casually, but god damn. It really does suit her...
"Well?"
Elise asked. I feel like it was directed to me.
"You look beautiful, Elise..."
"Huh? So the two of us are pretty, but Elise is beautiful?"
Blair chimes in, feeling left out along with Alisa.
"All three of you are absolutely stunning."
I wasn't lying. The three of them were the school's top beauties. I wonder how many people have asked them to dance already...
We make our way to the school hall, where the dance would be held.
"Say, are any of you going to dance with Prince Leonas?"
The three looked at me in surprise.
"Nope. I do have someone in mind though... I have asked her yet."
Her? So it's a girl? Was there such a character in the book? I thought all three of them wanted to dance with Prince Leonas...
"Haven't you heard though? Prince Leonas already has a partner."
A partner? That's strange... who would it be, other than the three in front of me?
"Who is it?"
"I heard it's a noble from the Albericht family."
Hazel's family? Could it be Hazel?
We arrive at the hall, and proceed in. All eyes are on the girls, they just stand out too much...
The attention doesn't last for too long though. Everyone's gaze shifts when their eyes land on the Crown Prince Leonas.
He walks in, hand in hand with his partner...
It isn't Hazel... it's... a man...
Since when was the crown prince gay?!
I met eyes with his partner. I feel a sense of familiarity.
[Host, this person is someone you knew in your previous life.]
What? Someone I knew...
I glanced back at the person. He kinda looks like....

No way... it couldn't be, right?
I see the person's eyes widen as well.
This is messed up...
