The great towers of Syracuse stared down at them. No longer accustomed to cities, Wing always felt slightly overwhelmed by the size of the buildings.
They set off on foot.
As they were walking towards the city, Arcturus suddenly metamorphosed into a human. That was one of the things that Wing did not enjoy with the city. But there was no choice.
The alleys, the public squares, the gardens, the terraces, and the large plazas were all bustling with people and activity.
The pair of them ended up stopping at all the food stalls they came across. They tasted the meats, the cheese, the fish, the sweets, the pastries, the noodles, the soups...

Wing notably stopped at a well-known spice shop. He picked up a few herbs and fine spices and put them in his backpack. His attire attracted the attention of the owner.
"Wot'll you use them spices for, then?" asked the owner.
âWild boars,â he replied. âI think the flavor needs a kick.â
That owner looked very satisfied indeed. He went over to Wing and gave him an extra bag of cinnamon.
"'Ave a bash at this," he said.
âThanks! Why donât you come over one of these days and try out my cooking?â
"Mind telling me where you hang your hat?"
âLuxuria Vale,â he said, but immediately regretted his words.
The Dragonâs ear twitched. He sighed heavily.
"Nah," said the owner, "that ain't for me. But cheers."
Of course, Wing had expected this answer. He waved at the owner and left.
âWatch that tongue!â hissed Arcturus.
âAlright, alright! Tâwas an honest mistake!â
âHow can you even make that mistake? I thought you didnât like Paradisers!â
âYeah, but I got carried away! He liked my cooking!â
âDoesnât take you much to crack...â
âJust shut it, dude.â
