Wing stretched lazily on Arcturus’ gigantic back.

“Can you see it? ’tween the Little Dipper and Hercules? You ever been there?” he asked.

“No, but seems we may soon be going.”

“Yeah, Lactea’s really into this. Hope she doesn’t get us killed.”

“No need to worry, It’s only Sagittarius A*.”

The young man paused to think. Only Sagittarius A*?

He turned around and jokingly poked the large ribs of his friend. “You know,” he said, “this really takes some getting used to. Even after all this time, it’s still pretty weird to say that so casually.”

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Arcturus’ nostrils flared. “You barely scratched the surface, kid. This place is greater than what your old brain could have ever processed.”

“Yeah, somehow, I can feel it. Weird.”

Arcturus’ ear twitched. “Looks like we’re about to eat!”

The young man jumped up and looked around—footsteps. “Take it easy kid, she...” said Arcturus. But Wing was too excited to listen.

“Vinyl! Finally, you...” He broke off, as she looked back at him.

“Vinyl, are you alright? Did something happen?”

She stared directly at him. “Wing, Is it really you? You look the same but...” She took a step back.

Wing looked at her. “It's ; it's me. But yeah, I thought you'd be like that.”

She froze. “Like what?”

“Well, come on...you know. I mean you don’t trust this, yeah?”

“No, I don’t.”

They stood there, looking at each other, unsure what to do next.

“Tell you what,” he said. “You won’t get any answers now and anyway this is complicated stuff. I think it’ll take time. Let’s just chill and have dinner with Arcturus. He’s waiting for us.”

She tensed up immediately. “Who?”
