Nishtha

"Welcome home Maa Papa Vami!" I said as I opened the door. They smiled and walked in and I touched their feet.

"Where is Yuvaan?" Maa asked as she sat on the couch with Papa and Vamika.

"He's coming. He's gone to just attend a work call, he'll be down soon." I said. I went to the kitchen and brought chai for them and sat down. Yuvaan came down as well.

"So, how's work beta?" Papa asked.

"It's going good, Papa, I'm working from home for this week." I smiled.

"Beta, do you think you can take a few days leave for the wedding?" Maa asked and I smiled.

"I've already gotten the leave approved Maa, don't worry, I'll be there."

"Acha!" Papa said, "I'm going to go freshen up. Yuvaan, show me to my room."

"I..I'll show you Papa." I said and got up.

"I'll come too." Vamika said.

We walked up the stairs and I opened the door to the third room, which I had now arranged so it can host Maa and Papa. Papa walked in, smiled and then I closed the door, giving him his space. Then, I walked to my room, from which I had removed most of my stuff, and opened the door and let Vamika enter.

"I'll be down if you need anything." I said.

"Di...." She stopped me, "Is everything okay?"

I smiled at her, "Everything is fine."

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"Why?"

Vamika pointed inside and I looked and saw my clothes kept on the bed.

Oh shit. I forgot to move all of them!

"I... I was just moving them. I forgot, I'll move them." I said as I walked to my clothes.

She held my hand, "Di, you don't have to hide things from me. I won't tell anyone."

I sighed, "When we moved here, I... I wasn't able to, we both weren't able to share a room, so... we just... we just stay separate."

"Would you like to share a room with me? While I'm here you can share a room with me. I don't mind."

"No Vami, don't worry. I'll be fine." I smiled more to myself, "Things are changing now."

She smiled back, "I am really glad. I hope they are and if you need help, I'm right here. I would do anything to get my OG couple back."

I chuckled and requested, "Just don't tell your parents about the room thing?"

She nodded, "Don't worry about it. I never saw anything."

I went downstairs after closing her door and saw Maa had also gone up to relax and it was just Yuvaan sitting down. I went to him, "Vami found out that we aren't in the same room."

"What?" He asked, looking up, "How?"

"It's my fault. I was in a hurry and when I was shifting my last set of clothes, the bell rang so I panicked and ran to open the door. I forgot to remove them and I gave her my room and she noticed it - so she asked, and I couldn't hide."

"Oh." He said, "Alright."

Was he angry?

I looked at him, "A...Are you... angry?"

"What?!" He pulled me to him, "Are you insane? Of course I'm not angry Nishu. I was just caught off guard but I know she won't say anything." I hummed in response, "Don't worry about me. I'll never get mad at you, only you have that right."

I smiled and let myself go from his grip and I went into the kitchen and started to help Jeena Aunty in cooking dinner for everyone.

In the evening, I came outside bringing food for everyone as we sat on the table discussing everything for the wedding. I sat and listened to them talk about the excitement for the wedding and I sat there chuckling - because I knew I'd feel the same way when Neel's turn comes.

This is beautiful.

Then, my eyes fell on Yuvaan. He's changed a lot since he found out the truth and I can't help but give into him. After our kiss yesterday, he's been on my mind 24/7. It's like my mind wants more. One kiss isn't enough.

I'd be lying if I said that I still hate him for what happened, because he healed things in actions rather than just saying sorry. His sorry was followed by a lot of redemption and most people miss that step.

I'm falling for Yuvaan Nanda once again.

I felt a nudge on my thigh as I was interrupted by my thoughts. I looked at who interrupted me and was greeted by Yuvaan, who coming closer to me and whispered, "Are you okay?" I nodded in response and he smiled at me, then went back to the conversation.

Once dinner was done, I sat with Maa, Papa, Vami and Yuvaan as they went through a bunch of details and planning regarding the wedding. I didn't say much because I have no idea how to plan a wedding and I don't want to be involved in things I might mess up in - because this would be a large scale wedding. My wedding wasn't a large scale one because both Yuvaan and I weren't friends or even remotely okay with each other and we didn't want a large scale wedding. Whereas with Vamika, her and her fiancé both are members of really powerful families - so it goes without saying that a large scale wedding would be happening.

The planning ended at about 10:30/11 and then everyone departed to their rooms to sleep.

Maa let me know that the Soods will be coming tomorrow for breakfast before the wedding and then, from 12pm, the mehendi ceremony will start so we need to head to the Nanda House. I nodded and went to his room.

Knocking on the door, I heard a faint noise on the inside saying to enter. I did, and I was greeted by a grey and white aesthetic all around me. His room was really masculine.

His gym was open, I could see the door to it. I walked inside and saw him working out.

Holyyyy Shit!

He wasn't wearing a shirt and was in his track pants and was working out. I turned around after realizing that I'm literally staring, but he caught my hand and turned me around. "You can look Nishu, it's all yours." He smirked.

"I... I was just..." I tried to speak.

"I'm done working out, don't worry. You can come here." He said and pulling me back.

"I was just.... here to sleep." I replied.

"Only here to sleep." He teased, "Oh no!"

"Shut up." I said and then went in the room.

He walked to the bathroom and within 5 mins he was out, dressed in a simple shirt and track pants, then, he came and sat down leaning on the bed, "Come."

I had changed into an easy salwar suit when he looked at me, "What?" I asked him.

"There's no way you're sleeping in that." He said.

"What's wrong with this?" I asked him.

"You know that you're uncomfortable, so why are you sleeping in that? He asked.

I looked at him and sighed, "I thought it's best to wear this when Maa and Papa are in the room nearby."

He chuckled, "It's fine. They don't care. Vami is probably sleeping in shorts as well."

"Vamika is the ghar ki beti." I argued.

"And you aren't?" He asked.

I looked down, "I... you know what I mean."

"I don't like what you mean." He said, grabbing my hand and making me sit, "You're also a daughter of this house and we don't treat anyone differently, so go wear what you want and sleep."

"I'm fine."

He sighed, "Okay but if ever you're not, then please change without thinking twice."

I nodded and he lay down on his side.

That's when I realised. I haven't shared a bed with him in years. This was a sudden change. I looked at my side of the bed and froze a bit.

"I won't eat you." He said, and I looked up. He was smirking, "Not yet at least."

I rolled my eyes and chuckled, "Shut up."

Then, I lay down. I saw him come close to me and take the blanket and put it nicely around me, I watched in awe as he made me cozy.

"Wait! I need to braid my hair before I sleep." I said, stopping him from adjusting it.

"Oh. I see." He said and I got up, I was taking my hair but he caught hold of my hair tie and turned me around so my hair faced him, "I'll do it."

"You know how to braid?" I asked him.

"Know? I learned it years ago." He chuckled.

I got a flashback in my mind where I had asked him to braid my hair and he didn't know how to so he spent the entire night learning how to braid it, only for him to be the only one to braid my hair after that.

"I thought you forgot." I admitted.

"I can't forget anything related to you, even if I try, and trust me I tried." He said.

I sat quietly as he braided my hair, feeling goosebumps on my skin whenever his hand came in contact with my bare back. After 3 mins, he let my hair go by tying it, "There, done."

I looked at him, "Thanks."

He didn't reply, just stared at me.

"What happened?" I asked him.

"You in my room, with your hair braided by me, I've been wishing for this for a very long time."

I replied, "You hated me 4 years ago."

He shook his head, "I never hated you, I might have said it or tried to show it, but if you got hurt, it would sting me more. I can't hate you."

I smiled at him and then we lay down and he switched off the lights. He was asleep and I turned to him as the moonlight fell on his face.

He looked beautiful.

I slowly went close to him and moved some hair from his eyes and put the blanket over him. He suddenly opened his eyes and I got scared and tried to move away but he held my hand and pulled me closer to him.

"Wow, I'm going to sleep really well today." He said and I glared at him.

"You scared me." I said.

"And you intoxicate me." He winked.

"Let me sleep." I said, blushing and trying to move away into the other direction.

"Sleep na then." He said.

I figured he's not letting me go, so I made myself comfortable with his hand in my hand, and soon, sleep caught with me.

I didn't realise that this was the first night in many years that I wished that the night never ends.
