The thunder roared like a beast from hell through the pitch-black night sky; lightning pierced the clouds like a reptile flicking its tongue as it tastes a scent in the air. With every flash, four figures could be seen making their way through the field of wheat into the safety of the black forest as the fire from the town raced toward the field. The angry cries from the crowd were becoming fainter but they could still hearâ They are monsters!!!! We must make them pay; let them burn just as our town does!!!!!â
âOhhhh, youâve really done it now Rose; what, how are we going to be being telling Mother!â Violet cried as the four of them entered the sheltering embrace of the tree line. She was struggling to hold onto the burlap sack that was full to the brim with bread and hams when at last after running for more than thirty minutes straight they stopped. None of them looked as though they were winded although the tiniest beads of sweat could be seen on their brows. âTheyâve already seen our powers so why canât we just being flying back to camp!â
âAnd you sure know when to stick your foot in your mouth donât you sis; I didnât mean for this to be happening and itâs because theyâve seen our powers is exactly why we canât be being flying back to the camp!â Rose growled shooting Violet a dagger-like stare for bringing up her lack of control. She was the oldest if only by a few minutes, but she was supposed to be the leader! Leaders arenât supposed to lose control! Still when they were sneaking through the village, she took one brief look at that bonfire in the square and all hell broke loose.
âAlright enough now is for to not being the time to fight; this isnât your fault Roseâ¦Violet our powers are growing you are for to be knowing that!â Daisy said as she drew the three of them closer together into a huddle. Oooh Mummy isnât going to like this not one bit! She thought to herself. They wouldnât stay mad at each other for long but right now was not the time to be carrying on like this.
âDaisyâs right we need to being stopping this nonsense and get a move on!â Lilly stated as she materialized from the mist back into her human form. She looked out of the forest opening; waving her left hand several times at the trees waves of reddish-violet psionic energy flowed from her left hand hitting the trees; causing the leaves and several of the broken branches to fall and cover their trail. For the moment this was the one place that they were safeâ¦none of the villagers dared to venture any further into the forest than its entrance; the foliage, mushrooms, and tubers were still plentiful there and they could gather a lot of firewood; the hunting was good but only if it was done deeper in but the village had a good strong cattle herd, and sheep flock. This was the longest that they stayed in one place and the twists and turns of the forest were engrained like photographs in their memories, so it didnât take them very long to reach its heart where wagons were placed in a half circleâ¦at the southern end of the crescent sat a weather-beaten second-hand motor home. As they neared the motor home, they could sense that everyone was worried and expecting themâ¦especially their mother.
âWhere have you been, it doesnât take this long to gather supplies unlessâ¦there was trouble wasnât there; something was to have happened didnât it!?â Raven screamed as she ushered the girls into the motor home before anyone in the camp could ask questions. âAll of you get inside right nowâ¦all right what happened?!â
âThere was a celebration in the squareâ¦t-the villagers had a bonfire going; Iâm sorry mother I couldnât be being helping it!!!â Rose said quickly as she set her sack upon the floor then sat down next to the old potbellied stove to dry off and get warmed up. The stove was actually working well for once. The electrical system on the motor home was so rusted and corroded that no matter what Reign did he simply could not get the heater or air-conditioner to work so they improvised and installed an old pot-bellied stove. They casted a spell over the stove to keep the motor home from being burned to the ground unfortunately, the spell had an unexpected side effectâ¦sometimes the stove got too hot and sometimes it wouldnât hold a flame at all.
âYou were to being using your powers!!!?â Raven screamed as she brought towels from one of the tiny cabinets while the other girls put their sacks on the floor near the one that Rose had dropped, sat down next to their sister both for the warmth and to give her support while their mother was on the warpath. âI assume that the four of you were close enough that when the bonfire became an inferno you were seen?! I knew, I just knew in the pit of my stomach that you werenât being ready for this! Well, Rose what happened?!! Iâm waiting for an answer or are you all just going to being sitting there like statues?!!!â
âHeyyyy Raven whatâs going on whatâs being so important that you have for to being screaming like a banshee for?â Raya asked as she emerged from the dimensional pocket that was her room but commonly referred to by her brother and sisters as the junk yard. âWhat could possibly be being so bad that you have to go and wake the dead?â She ran her hands through her disheveled hair futilely trying to smooth it out.
âThis is indeed a dire situation sis but not so dire that the entire world is needing to know about it.â River said as she too emerged from the dimensional pocket that was her room. She stepped passed the pot-bellied stove and into the kitchenette where she pulled from the cabinets a teapot, a tin of hot chocolate and eight mugs. Filling the teapot with milk from the refrigerator she then levitated it onto the stove. âIt wonât take long for the hot chocolate to be ready.â She gently put her hand onto Roseâs shoulder.
âSo, I take it you were seeing this whole thing and chose to not tell me ehhh River?! You conjured this storm to being protect them, didnât you?!!!â Raven screamed sensing there was someone behind her she spun around to find out who it was.
âRaven please to being calming down jeezâ¦the entire camp can hear you and this isnât something that we are wanting for everyone to be hearing.â Reign said grabbing Raven by the shoulders and sitting her down quite hard on an old recliner that had clearly been patched once too often.
âWhat the hell do you mean that the entire camp can be hearing me Reign the door is closed isnât it? And please being just a little rougher on this piece of shit chair Reignâ¦because what Iâd really love to do is for to being patching it up again!â Raven ran her fingers through her hair and then tightly gripped the arms of the chair.
âWell yes the door is closed but you have to admit that it is pretty flimsy and no offense dear, but your voice could punch through pure titanium!â He laughed patting Daisy on the head as he and River began to put some of the food that was strewn all over the floor where the girls had dropped it into the cabinets and the refrigerator. âOh, Raya luv since you donât seem to be doing anything at the moment⦠be a dear and please to be taking this out to the others?â Reign gestured to the food that was left on the floor.
âUmm yeah sure Iâd love too!â Raya said as she snapped her fingers for not being quicker. Aw man I was so close to gettin back into my warm bed! She made sure to fix her face before she turned to face her brother.
âAuntie can I for to be helping you with that?!â Daisy asked quickly as she hopped up smoothed out the few hairs that had fallen into her face when she pulled back the hood of her crimson cloakâ¦then pulled her hood up over her head again and picked up one of the sacks. All this anger is too much for me right now I really need to get out!
âOhhh no if you think youâre to be going anywhere before weâve had a long, long talk about this youâre sadly mistaken!!â Raven growled as she rose from the chair and glared at Daisy for daring to have any sort of idea that she was going anywhere!!
âMmmmh Iâm for to be thinking a discussion with you is the last thing that any of them need right nowâ¦especially our little mouse here!â Raya responded sarcastically picking another sack up off the floor and ushering Daisy out of the RV. She didnât have to read her nieceâs mind to know what she was thinkingâ¦one need only to look at Daisyâs face and whatever she was feeling could be seen though she always tried so hard to hide it!
âOooooh why is it every time I am trying to be disciplining my children the three of you always interfere?!â Raven growled as she stormed into the kitchenette and pulled out a small cauldron. Slamming it down upon the pot-bellied stove she also began to pull out various herbs and liquids throwing them into the cauldron with reckless abandon. Nadia, please grant me the patience and strength to NOT be killing my siblings tonight!! There are so few of us left in this world and we would be bringing hatred and DEATH to those who remain!!!! She keened amidst the snap, pop, and ka-BOOMS that were coming from the cauldron with more and more frequency. Meanwhile outside of the motor home within the camp Daisy and her aunt were finished distributing the food and are headed back.
Youâre their mother, and no one is to being denying thisâ¦but we love them as though they were our own and weâre only wanting what is best for them and you should be knowing this!! River mentally responded as she levitated the tea kettle off of the stove while placing heaping spoonfulâs of chocolate into the mugs and then poured the milk from the teapot into the mugs. She then proceeded to hand the mugs to her nieces who took them and gratefully sipped the soothing chocolate.
âWe arenât trying to being interfering; weâre trying to help you should be knowing this by now! Besides in a few days weâll be moving on just as we always do to keep one step ahead.â Reign stated as he flopped into the recliner.
âSo thatâs making it okay for us to bring chaos, hatred and war to this tribe from the villagers!!!â Raven shrieked; meanwhile outside in the camp Daisy is talking with her aunt.
âShe couldnât help it auntie, you must believe we werenât meaning for any of this to being happening!!!! Still, we shouldnât be staying here with this tribe anymore; we should be leaving now.â Daisy whined as the two of them headed back towards the RV. They could hear the snap, pop and ka-booms coming from within as they headed up the stairs; Raya had her hand on the door and was about to open it when suddenly KA-BOOM an explosion rocked the entire RV throwing both Raya and Daisy back five feet! Thick black acrid smoke poured out from every window and from the doorframe, the explosion having blown the door completely off!!

âWell based on the amount of smoke that is coming from what once was our home Iâd have to say that right now weâre going to find the others and then weâll have to see if one of our neighbors would being kind enough to put us up not only for the night but until we can not only find another RV but also raise the money to pay for it!â Raya coughed and responded to her niece. Oh why, why does Raven have to do this?!!! Why canât she just deal with her emotions by talking about them? Why does she always have to be going and blowing things up?!!!!
âWell actually, I think once the smoke clears, weâll only need to be making a few minor repairs and sheâll be as good as new. I could tell that she was stronger than she looked when I picked her out and thankfully this time all Raven was to being making was a gigantic smoke bomb.â Reign responded as he, River, Raven and Ravenâs three other daughters materialized right in front of Raya and Daisy. There they stood just watching the thick black acrid smoke just pour from their RV. Raven, all youâre doing is helping to cement their impression of us as monsters when you blow things up!!! By the Goddess I wish that you would talk to us instead of resorting to potion making!!!
âReign whatâs going on here and whatâs this Iâm hearing about your nieces not only being seen in town but also for to have being seen using their powers?!!!â Pesha roared as he stormed up to the RV. With the slightest of nods River, Raven, and Raya took the four girls to the back of the RV closer to the gypsy wagons.
âYes, I sent the girls into town tonight; the supplies were getting low and were needing to being replenished.â Reign responded while quickly meeting Pesha as he stormed up. If Reign had not come to meet Pesha; he could have been seen as weak. Certainly not by his sisters or nieces but by Pesha and the other members of Peshaâs tribe. Alas if Pesha perceived any weakness, he would most definitely exploit it!
âAre you having any, any, any idea whatsoever what your girls have done!!!!? The town elders will demand an explanation; then theyâll increase the tariffs on our goods making it damn near IMPOSSIBLE for us to sell our wares!!!!!! WE will being having no choice now but to move on because of them!!!!!!!!â Pesha roared and then spied Daisy trying to get back to her beloved Uncle and hurled a hellish black energy ball straight at her!
âNo Pesha donât!!â Reign shouted thrusting his right hand out and unleashing a golden fiery plasma beam which hit Pesha sending him flying through several trees! Daisy saw the energy ball and conjured a column of earth outlined in indigo energy which the energy ball hit shattering the column knocking her to the ground, but she was otherwise unscathed. âDaisy, bebelus are you alright?â Her uncle asked as he got to her before the rest of the family could. He picked her up and gave her a quick once overâ¦seeing that she was all right Reign scooped her up into his arms and rushed into the motor home.
âY-y-yes, I think so Uncle!! I-I-I canât believe itâ¦h-h-he wanted to be killing me!!!!â Daisy whimpered and cried softly in her unclesâ arms. He gently placed her onto his king-sized bed within his room. The others rushed into the motor home and Raven with tears pouring down her face rushed up to Daisy and instantly began checking her to make sure that her daughter was unharmed.
âAre you alright Daisy?! Oh, merciful Nadia take pity upon this lowly, worthless soul!!!! I swear heâs going to pay DEARLY for this!!!!â Raven shrieked wanting to unleash her vampiric side so she could rip out the throat of the bastard that dared to try and do harm to one of HER daughters!!! While Raven desperately fought to control her monstrous nature; Raya rushed to the front of the RV jumped into the driversâ seat and with her lightning-fast reflexes she had the key turned a good three or four times before she finally heard the engine cough and sputter.
Come on come on we havenât GOT time for gamesâ¦OOOOH please to be starting ALREADY you piece of junk!!! Raya frantically thought to herself as the engine coughed sputtered and promptly died; after another three or four turns of the key once again the engine coughed and sputtered but at least this time the engine remained alive albeit with quite a few additional coughs!!
Excellent work sis keep it running I have a feeling we are going to need to make a quick exit soon!! NOW if youâll excuse me thereâs a beating I must administer!!! Reign mentally spoke to Rana as he made his way-out past Raven and River out of his room and back towards the door. NO ONE attempts to murder one of my nieces and lives to tell the tale!!!!! Raven wasnât the only one fighting to keep their vampiric nature from being unleashed!! It took every ounce of self-control that Reign had to keep from killing this bastard in a manner that would have made Vlad the Impaler break down crying like a girl!!
âUncle y-y-you hurt him but heâs coming back!!!â Violet screamed as she was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of anger, rage and outright hatred that was coming from Pesha! I just cannot be understanding why he is so angry with us!! I also canât fathom how, why he could have been so foolish as to think that he could attack one of us and get away with it!!?
Now calm down hunny I promise you everything will be being all right! Reign said telepathically as he walked out of the RV and shut the door behind him. âPesha, I know that youâre around here somewhere so come to me and die!!!!â
âYou insipid foolish and stupid little man!! You/re still acting so high and mighty?!!â Pesha roared as he emerged limping from the trees. He was favoring his left side, and everyone could see the scratches and blood in his hair from the initial impact of the back of his head with the first tree. âJust because whatever is left of your tribe are descendants of the vampire you think that you all are being so special, that you are superior to usâ¦well you are wrong about a good many things!!! We too are children of the nightâ¦we are Lykan!!â These were Peshaâs last coherent words as he suddenly doubled over and then exploded up screaming and howling with rage as his body contorted as he transformed from a man into a Lykan!! âNow you stupid WORTHLESS fuck let us see once and for all who is SUPERIOR to whom!!!â
âAAAHHH at last an opponent worthy of my abilityâ¦thank you Nadia for allowing me the opportunity to fully let loose!!â Reign shouted as he took to the sky; his skin changed from its golden bronzed color to an alabaster, his nails became razor sharp talons, and he bared his fangs with a hiss!
âOH, my I am sooo scared!! I shall being taking great pleasure in DEVOURING your entire tribe pathetic, sniveling, insipid vermin!!â The Lykan howled conjuring a hellish black fire ball and hurled it with all his might at Reign who dodged it effortlessly.
âTime for you to be dying filthy ANIMAL!!â Reign shouted diving at Pesha; he knew that his agility and speed would be the key in defeating Pesha. He slashed at Pesha with his talons taking small pieces of flesh out of the Lycans arms; then his now bloody talons were sunk into the massive barrel chest leaving an X. Pesha dropped to the ground writhing and howling with hatred, rage and pain silently cursing himself for being so slow!
âYouâre being right Reign itâs time for someone to be dying but not me!! By trying to prove yourself as a warrior by taking me on aloneâ¦youâve left vulnerable that which you hold most dear!!â Pesha shouted as he from his knees and hurled a pair of black fire balls not at Reignâ¦but at the motor home!! The fire balls hit the motor home and instantly set it ablaze with Raven and the others still inside! âHhhhhmmmm, it seems I have set your home on fire with your family still inside heh-heh-hehâ¦you had better do something quick!!!â
Whatever my brother is going to do he wonât be doing it alone you monster!!! PREPARE to DIE!!!!!!! Ravenâs haunting words in Peshaâs mind sent a bone chilling shiver up his spine. Suddenly his eyes became the size of soccer balls as Raven, her sisters and daughters appeared in the sky above what once was their home completely unharmed! There wasnât even a single granule of soot on any of them.
âWhat no this is not being possible!!!! I should be hearing your blood curdling screams right now!! H-h-how, how are you escaping?!!!â Pesha screamed falling on his knees in disbelief.
âThat should not be being any of your concernâ¦what should be being your concern is how quickly and painfully youâre going to be dying!!!â Rose shouted baring her fangs, her eyes that were always shining like the stars became cold and lifeless. Using her enhanced vampiric speed, she rushed at Pesha and began machine gunning bullets of fire! He was barely able to dodge the bullets but was nailed by the fire-beam that came from her left hand.
Rose get back here now!! We will for to being handling this dead thing!!! Iâm going to be enjoying killing this wretched, worthless piece of garbage!!! Ravenâs voice pierced Roseâs mind as she froze in mid-air and returned to her sisters while Raven came forward. Unfortunately, before Raven could launch her attack Reign was on the move!
âNo one is for to going to being finishing him off except for me Ravenâ¦Iâm being the man in the family after all!â He shouted but before he could resume his attack suddenly Daisy appeared in front of him! âWhat theâ¦Daisy get back!!
âI was the one he attacked Uncleâ¦so I should being the one who is getting to be finishing him off.â She responded thrusting out her hands that were outlined with an indigo energyâ¦clenching them tightly into fists; Daisy smiled as spikes projected up from the ground!! Pesha in his Lykan form utilizing his enhanced speed was just barely able to avoid being impaled!!! One of the multitude of spikes as it burst from the ground raked him across the back and another slashed his left shoulder; then a third sliced across his chest!
âOooohhhh if you are for to be thinking that would be enough to end meâ¦youâd better think again girl!! Iâve sustained wounds far worse than this and Iâve survived!!â Pesha roared leaping at her!! Quickly she caused a multitude of earthen pillars to fly up one of them slammed into him and he was launched into the stratosphere!!! As he came falling down Violet suddenly appeared, she thrust out her hands and beams of water shot forth nailing him directly in the chest! He howled in agony as the water beams went through his chest and out of his back as Violet manipulated the water vapor in the air; suddenly several water balls appeared and started blasting Pesha with beams of cerulean-blue energy!! He howled with rage and pain as he continued falling; suddenly Lilly appeared thrusting her hands out in front of her; purple rings of electrical energy shooting out wrapping around Pesha and as he struggled he was electrocuted!! âArgh if thatâs the best you can being doing you oomph!!â His words were cut off as Raya
