Chapter 106: His Return Pt. IV

My Beginning After the EndWords: 10887

We were running to the first cavern, the one before we see Arthur, there were four hundred mana beasts in front of us. I was in the lead, next to Drogo, prepared to kill as many as I wanted. I was given permission by Drogo to jump into the horde, which I planned on doing.

They weren't going to rely on me to protect the conjurers, I wasn't part of their first line. I had my blood sword in my right hand, ready to strike down the gnolls that slightly mutated.

The tunnel we were in felt dark, everyone was preparing themselves for the fight ahead. I could see the cavern up ahead, it was time. I surrounded myself with blue flames, that stayed around my body as I ran. This made the people around me back up a little, and then I activated "Blood Acceleration" to make sure my speed was on a whole different level than the mana beast.

"I'm going on ahead." I told Drogo, he gave me a head nod as I used wind mana to launch myself into the cavern at a high speed. The gnolls turned to me, I flew up in the air, picked a spot near the middle, and landed on the ground, killing a few in the process, and created a gap in the horde for me to stand in.

I was surrounded, in the middle of the four hundred mana beast, the first thing I did was rip the blood out of the ones in the first row, killing ten of them. I then pulled that blood to me, and had it surround me, like a barrier.

A gnoll swung a sword it had, I dodged the attack, sent fire into it, dodged another, shot blood in all directions, killing a few more. I had my sword grow like a snake, and slither into the necks of a couple of the gnolls.

I pulled my sword back, reformed it, and sent it through more of them. I had the blood around me, rise to the sky, and used "Blood Rain."

Needles of blood fell on the horde, away from the squad, making sure none of them got hit by it. I sent the fire surrounding my body out, burning a few of them, dodged an attack from a gnoll falling to the ground in pain as my fire ate away at it.

I started moving the fire around in front of me, from gnoll to gnoll, burning them one by one. In the process, I brought my sword through a couple of them, and shot spells at the ones that ran free.

I ducked, sidestepped, and slid my sword into a gnoll's chest, had the blade extend and kill another, ripped it out, reformed it, and then shot ice shards in the direction of a gnoll running at me.

The shards killed a couple, I gathered myself, and then blocked an attack. The gnoll roared in my face, but the blood inside of it blew up as I turned away and deflected another attack. The blood rain was still going on, killing a shit ton of them.

A gnoll through a punch at me, but its hand froze as it got too close to me, and then I killed it by sliding my sword into its lower abdomen. Another gnoll came in, swinging an ax it had in its hands at me. A wall of wind came up, blocked the attack, I ripped my sword out of the previous gnoll I killed, and then sent it into the next one.

I pushed my empty hand out, shooting a stream of wind, knocking back a gnoll, then swung my blade through one's throat. Ice began to spread over the ground, freezing the feet of multiple gnolls.

The fight going on near the entrance, seemed to be going well, I only sensed one death, out of over a hundred soldiers. I could see their spells landing near me and killing a few when they hit. It would have been my fault if a spell hit me, or I had to dodge it, I was standing in the middle of the horde.

Tessia had her Beast Will activated, I could sense it from here, vines were going through gnolls as they grew out of the ground. Plant magic was something I would never have, which sucks because it's pretty dangerous.

I launched myself through the ones frozen to the ground, bring my sword through them all, knocking their corpses over. I extend my blade, so it was around seven foot long, and spun in a circle, killing gnolls as I did.

I reformed it, conjured an ice sword, and began to take out beast one by one, killing them without any problems. My blood rain stopped, I decided to fly up into the air, some of the soldiers looked up at me in aww, but the gnolls looked up at me in horror.

I pointed my sword at the horde, and conjured water all around me, then shaped the water into scythes, and sent them. The scythes cut down multiple gnolls, and then I conjured blades of wind and sent them down, killing more.

Deciding to stay up here, I began unleashing spell after spell on the horde as nothing could reach me up here. My fire, water, ice, wind, and blood spells ripped through the horde, killing a bunch of them.

It was only matter of minutes before the rest of them died, and all our soldiers looked up at me as I came flying down slowly to them. I still had a lot of my mana, being in white core was awesome.

"Nice work, everyone." Drogo called out, and they started to sit and talk with each other as I landed. "Virion, just as impressive as I've heard."

"Thanks." I said as I walked past him to where I saw Tessia's team. "Is everyone alright?" I asked as I stopped near Tess.

"Yeah, I think so." Tess answered.

"Tch, nice work out there, Demon." Darvus told me as he looked at the ground. "You really took out most of them."

"No, you guys did a lot too." I probably killed half; the rest were killed by the squad. Arthur was almost finished, it was perfect timing, this was going to be awesome.

"You don't have to lie to us." Caria said with a grin. "If we didn't have you, more people would have died."

"But you did have me." I deformed my sword, knowing I didn't need it anymore, and placed it in a tube. I activated my mana ring, and the tube went inside. I didn't have any of my episodes of wanting to kill, which was good, I still had to be safe.

"Why did you put your sword away? You are going to need it again on the next floor where there are more." Tess looked at me confused.

"No, I won't." I told her simply and leaned against the wall next to Stannard.

"Why?" Tess asked, everyone looked at me.

"You'll see." I shrugged. "If what I am sensing is correct, we are done fight for the day."

"What do you mean?!" They all asked, curious about the meaning of my words.

"I mean exactly what I said, we are done fighting." They all still looked at me confused. "Jeez, fine, the mana beast in the next dungeon are all dead."

"What?!" Tess exclaimed. "Who killed them?"

"How can they all be dead?" Darvus asked.

"You're joking." Caria looked at me, and then went on. "You're not joking, shit, who killed them?"

"Uhh, don't look at me." I said with a, I don't know face, even though I did, but I wanted it to be a surprise still. "Maybe it was the Alacryans, they aren't there anymore if it was them though."

"I don't think they would kill them; they can control them." Tess told me, trying to figure out what's going on.

"Okay, everyone, let's go, the next floor is the most dangerous one!" Drogo shouted, and the soldiers began to march toward the tunnel leading to the next floor. We stayed in the back and observed.

"We should tell them then." Tess began to walk, but I stopped her.

"No, it's safe, trust me, Tess." I then began to follow the squad in the back with Tessia's team.

"Are you positive?" Stannard asked me, and I nodded my head. "Then I trust you."

"Me too." Caria shot me a smile.

"You'll see." I told them, knowing that in a few minutes, they would see for themselves. After a long jog through the tunnels, we heard people start to speak as they entered into the last floor.

"What the hell?!"

"They are all dead!"

"Who did this?"

Tessia's team looked at me as the cavern came into view for us, gnoll bodies were covering the floor. "You were right." Tess told me, and I smiled at her as I looked up at the door on the other side of the cavern.

Tessia's team and I walked through the soldiers who were all standing still and made our way to the front of the squad. The Twin Horns were standing with Drogo as we approached them, they turned to us.

"Veer, do you know what's going on?" Helen asked me.

"I did sense that they were dead." I stopped next to Adam and gave them all a smile. "There's no need to worry anymore, I'm sorry I did say something to you." I looked at Drogo apologetically.

"It's fine, we still have to open that door." All of us turned toward the door, and Drogo pointed at a group of soldiers. "Go open that door, we need to see wants in there, the mutant could be in there."

"It is." I told him. "But it's dead, and the door is already opened."

"How?" Drogo shook his head. "How is any of this possible?!" He exclaimed, trying to comprehend what was going on. "Go, open it all the way then!" Everyone began to walk over toward the door, I felt my heart start to race, not in fear, but in excitement.

"Veer, what aren't you telling us?" Tess looked at me suspiciously, and this caused everyone to look at me.

"Haha." I laughed. "Tess, everything is fine, just watch." The soldiers grabbed the handle on the giant door and began to pull it open.

My fingers began to twitch, I couldn't hold it in my excitement. The doors slowly opened, and we all stood in front of it, trying to see what was inside.

Everyone was on the tips of their toes, worried about what was behind the door.

The view came into sight.

Holy shit!

Priceless!

Amazing!

Sitting on top of countless gnoll bodies, stacked like a tower, was my brother. He stared down at us all with his azure eyes, as everyone froze in their places. A smile crossed my face as the image I had in my mind of this moment was broken and replaced by this one.

Arthur scanned the room, everyone completely numb in fear, except for me, this was awesome, I could sense it, just like Stannard said in the novel, everyone in here was completely taken aback by Arthur's aura and image.

Tess took a step up, but was still slightly behind me, I think she was trying to clarify what she was seeing. Arthur still didn't move, even with us all staring up at him in aww, well, I guess I was staring in aww, they were all staring because they were scared.

I started to clap my hands. "Beautiful, what a masterpiece." I said out loud on accident, turned to Tess who was looking at me weirdly, and then looked back up at Arthur.

"Veer, is that ---?" Tess stepped up next to me as everyone took in the sight before them.

"Princess, wait, it's not safe." Drogo told her, but she ignored him.

"Is it?" She turned to me, and I was the only one in the cavern smiling at that moment, she turned her head toward Arthur again, and called out to him. "Arthur!" His eyes didn't settle on her, but on me. "Arthur, is that you?!"

"Veer!" Arthur shouted from up on the throne, and I felt my body shiver. "What the hell are you doing here?!" My eyes widened as he spoke.

A white blur caught my eye and flew by me into Tessia's arms. "Sylvie!" Tess exclaimed as she held the dragon in her white fox form.

"Kyu!" Sylvie made some cute noise.
