Allison Nguyen is a Vietnamese American girl who is desperate to fit in at high school even if that means rejecting her culture. When she gets into trouble at school, she is punished by having to work at her parents' phở restaurant. Forced to work with her brooding fellow classmate and coworker, Luca Chen, she begins to learn about her culture and most of all, herself. Will she finally learn what it means to be Asian American? And is working at her parents' restaurant with a stone cold boy she thought she hated so bad after all?
