Chapter 328
Unspoken Hearts: My Neglected Mute Wife’s Escape

Klein, the little weasel, sauntered over to Tyrone, a wicked glint in his eye. He announced, âLadies, donât be so harsh on Kallie. Kallie can leave. Iâll handle Tyroneâs care.â
Klein put a possessive hand on Tyroneâs arm, his smile a thinly veiled threat. âDonât fret. Iâll be here for Tyrone when Kallie and Ewing are away.â
Kallieâs eyes narrowed into icy slits. âHe is your grandfather, Klein,â she hissed.
Klein blinked, feigning innocence. âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â he asked, all wide-eyed. âIâm just being a good grandson.â
The room crackled with tension. Everyone knew Klein was holding Tyrone hostage.
Abramâs family sat in stony silence. Even Jennifer remained quiet.
Abram and Jenniferâs husband had a history of bad blood, but Jennifer had always been close to Abramâs family. A wave of bitter irony washed over Kallie. Was Ewing really raised by Jennifer, this manipulative witch? It was hard to believe Ewing and Jennifer were as different as night and day.
Kallieâs shoulders slumped in defeat. âFine,â she said with a sigh. âIâll cancel the ticket.â
Astrid plastered on a sickly-sweet smile and patted Kallieâs shoulder. âThatâs a good girl. This is all for the good of the family. Maybe you and Bria can finally bury the hatchet. Youâre cousins, after all.â
Kallie forced a smile. âI could be happy with you if you and Bria would just leave me alone. But you wonât, so donât pretend you care.â
Then, Kallie pushed Tyroneâs wheelchair to leave.
Astridâs smile vanished. She glared at Kallie, muttering curses under her breath, âDamn it! Does she think sheâs so important? Tyrone is just blind to her true nature!â
Bria walked over to Astrid, hesitation coloring her tone as she asked, âMom, is it true that Kallie will get a third of Tyroneâs inheritance when he dies?â
âYes, itâs true,â Astrid whispered. âWhen Tyrone was in his right mind, he gave his will to Ewing. Jennifer saw it, or weâd all be clueless.â
Astrid and the others were already far from reconciled with the idea that Kallie would take a share of Tyroneâs assets upon his death. In their eyes, Kallie was simply the daughter of Tyroneâs only daughter and didnât deserve to gain a dime at all. They were astonished to learn Tyrone intended to leave so much to Kallie.
Tyrone had planned to split his money equally between his three children.
Abram thought Kallie shouldnât get anything since her mom wasnât alive.
But Tyrone wanted Kallie to have her share anyway. Certainly, Astrid and the others didnât like this idea at all.
At first, Jennifer had no intention of getting involved. But she changed her mind upon seeing Tyroneâs will. She swiftly decided to side with Abramâs family and support their schemes.
The day of Briaâs operation arrived quickly.
Kallie, having known about Briaâs delicate condition and predicted the lengths Abramâs family would go to, decided to play it safe this time.
