Chapter 311
Beyond the Divorce
People Fear Violence Harmony asked, âChloe, what exactly is your relationship with Atlas?â
Her sudden question didnât surprise me. It was clear she wanted to uncover my connection with Atlas.
Stella had stirred Harmonyâs anxiety, but this impulsive move was entirely hers.
Harmony was not stupid, but she was a klutz. Her question showed she doubted Stellaâs manipulation.
Teasingly, I asked, âWhat do you think our relationship is?â
I avoided her question, knowing that provoking her was the only way to get her to stand up to Stella. I had promised Lauren that she could witness this drama unfold.
Then, I timidly said, âI never said heâs my boyfriend. I donât have the guts for that!â
Maybe my words reassured Harmony, or perhaps it was because I didnât confirm my relationship with Atlas. Either way, her expression relaxed.
âI only wanted to tell you about Atlasâs condition,â Harmony stammered, her confidence waning. âI heard that heâs been discharged and is back home.â
I wasnât surprised. After all, I had heard about Atlasâs condition from Nick.
âIs there anything else? I already know this.â I looked at Harmony with casual indifference.
âYou knew?â Then she gave me a strange look. âHavenât you been curious about Atlasâs injuries?â
I coldly asked, âWho told you that?â
Harmonâs awkward expression revealed that she had been misled.
âThey said youâve been asking around,â she said, somewhat resigned.
That struck me as odd, and I asked, âWho said that?â
I knew someone had provoked Harmony, which meant Stella knew I was seeking information about Atlas. Did they also know that Kennedy had called me? This was what I had suspected.
Harmony set down her coffee cup, looking displeased, and said, âAlright, alright, since you donât want to know, Iâll leave.â
glanced at her. âYou showed up here so early in the morning. Are you being led around like a dog.
Harmony? Given your celebrity status, you should value yourself! Why let yourself be manipulated like this?
Harmony was genuinely dissatisfied this time, and her expression turned serious. She was a widely-
adored star and was not used to being teased.
She glared at me. âNo need to be so mean, Chloe. Someone wanted me to relay a message to you about Atlasâs situation. If you donât want to know, thatâs fine. But why be so sharp about it?â
Harmony looked uneasy, and I wanted to smile.
