Chapter 312
Beyond the Divorce
A Shocking Piece of News I calmed myself down. âWas I too blunt? I just hate seeing you used this way.â
She studied me, trying to determine if I was telling the truth.
1 added, âWell, did she ever let you see Atlas yourself? Has she ever treated you like Atlasâs girlfriend?â
Harmonyâs face grew paler as she clenched her delicate hands.
âIf she thought you were his girlfriend, she wouldâve let you see Atlas instead of getting you to come here. Think about it! Her intentions werenât pure!â
There was another knock on the office door. I glanced at Harmony and said, âCome in!â
Carol entered, holding an invitation. âMs. Chloe, this is an invite from the Builders Association for a party tomorrow night. Also, could you please sign this report? Itâs urgent!â
1 examined the report and asked Carol, âHave you doubleâchecked this data?â
âYes!â
I signed it and handed it back to Carol. Before Carol could leave, Eleanor entered. When she saw Harmony in the office, she hesitated.
âIâll come back later!â
âIs it urgent?â I asked.
She glanced at Harmony before saying, âVery urgent!â
Harmony understood I was busy and said, âIâll leave now. I wonât disturb you!â
She looked at me disdainfully before reaching for her belongings. âYou should at least walk me out, right?â
âOh! Of course!â
I stood up and told Eleanor, âPlease wait a moment. I have to see this celebrity off. Recognize her?
Sheâs a big star thatâs making waves!â
Harmony smugly said, âIâll give you credit for being polite!â
saw her off at the elevator and said, âTry not to wander around like today. Be smarter next time.â
Harmony scoffed as the elevator doors closed. I shrugged with a smile and returned to the office.
Eleanor asked, âWho was that?â
âA movie star. Didnât you see her all dolled up?â I teased, âItâs a standard look for celebrities!â
Eleanor laughed. âI wondered why she didnât look like someone from our field. That explains it!â
She then updated me on her recent partnership negotiations. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly she had taken the reins.
I asked Carol to find us a quiet restaurant. âTonight, Iâm treating Ms. Eleanor to dinner!â
âWith whom?â Carol asked.
âJust the core team,â I said. Then I added, âOh, and letâs enjoy ourselves too. Find a nice, fancy place.â
Just then, my phone rang. me space to answer the call. Grayson was oth of them stepped back alving on the line, bringing me shocking news.
He revealed why the police were investigating Kennedyâs car accident. He was gripping a USB drive when they found him.
However, what was on that drive remained a mystery. It was likely connected to his death, so it was safe to say someone had killed Kennedy.
It sent chills down my spine, and I almost dropped my phone. My suspicions that he was murdered were correct. Who could it be? Celine?
