Chapter 183
When She Stops Playing Nice
Chapter 183
Ethanâs rage flared instantly, and he smashed the glass in his hand, bellowing at the man, âDonât you dare mention Night Bar to me!â
Hearing anything related to Gabriel made him feel irritable.
The man was startled and quickly put on a placating smile. âMr. Jackson, donât be angry. Just now, I heard the manager say that a few new girls have arrived today, and theyâre college students. How about that? Letâs have two of them come and keep us company
Ethan responded with an impatient hum.
The man let out a sigh of relief and contacted the manager to bring in two hostesses.
Even after the hostesses entered, Ethan was still somewhat preoccupied.
The man next to him noticed one of the hostesses standing by the door, hesitant to approach, and asked with some confusion, âHey, what are you doing just standing there? Come over here!â
The woman approached reluctantly.
The man, noticing her head down, squinted to get a better look at her and suddenly laughed. âOh, Mr. Jackson, this woman here, doesnât she look a bit like someone we know?â
Ethan frowned. âWho are you talking about?â
âYour ex-girlfriend, your former fiancée!â the man said, not one to shy away from stirring up trouble.
Ethan was puzzled, and when he looked up at the woman, he realized it wasnât just a resemblance. She was clearly Olivia herself!
Ethan was taken aback and suddenly stood up. âHow the hell did you end up working here?â
Oliviaâs eyes dodged, and she tried to deny it, affecting a voice. âIâm sorry, sir, you you must have mistaken me for someone else.â
âAre you still pretending? D**n it, werenât you supposed to be rich? Why are you working as a hostess here then?â
After yelling, Ethan suddenly realized there were others watching the spectacle, so he roared, âGet the hell out of here!â
The man and the other hostess quickly left the private room.
Ethan grabbed Olivia by the hair. âYou d**n⦠you lied to me before, didnât you? The two million dollars I gave you, where is it? You squandered it all, didnât you? Youâre just a filthy b**h, always tricking men out of their money!â
Olivia didnât even have time to plead for mercy before Ethan struck her repeatedly across the face, venting his frustrations from the encounters Gabriel onto Olivia
with
He pummeled and kicked her without mercy.
Oliviaâs screams of agony in the private room drew the attention of the barâs security. The guards burst in, separating the two, but by then, Olivia was left bruised and bloodied.
The manager also rushed to the scene.
âMr. Jackson, please calm down. If thereâs anything unsatisfactory about her service, we can replace her. Please donât be angry. If this continues and something happens, it wouldnât be good, would it?â

âSomething happens? So what if it does? I can afford to pay for any trouble!â Ethan was still trying to break through the security and managerâs restraint to get at Olivia, but the guardâs strong grip held him back.
âMr. Jackson, what exactly about her service has displeased you? Please tell us,â the manager pleaded, sweating profusely. Ethan wasnât afraid of trouble, but the manager certainly didnât want any.
âItâs a personal matter between us. It has nothing to do with anyone elselâ
Ethan finally started to calm down a bit.
Olivia finally managed to catch her breath. âEthan, what the hell has gotten into you? What did I do with the money you gave me? Do you want me to discuss it here or at the police station?â
âAre you still f**g threatening me?â Ethan was furious.
Olivia wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth. âYou came at me like a rabid dog, Ethan. Iâm telling you. If you dare to hit me again, we can both go down together. How about it? Do you want to give it a try?â
âYouâ¦â Ethan was left speechless.
The manager, fearing that Oliviaâs reckless words would provoke Ethan further, quickly interjected, âMiss, could you please hold your tongue?â
Ethan shook off the security guardâs grip. âLet go, Iâm not going to hit her anymore. Hitting her is like risking catching a disease!â-
âIâm glad to see youâre calming down, Mr. Jackson. Your bill for today will be on the house, how about that?â the manager
offered.
Ethan snorted coldly, feeling much more at ease now that his anger had been vented. He glared at Olivia and threatened. âOlivia, if you donât fulfill your promise to me, youâd better watch out. Iâll make you pay!â
With that, Ethan strode out with a swagger.
The manager gave Olivia a disgruntled look and said directly, âDonât come in tomorrow. Your first day on the job and this happens. Itâs just bad luck.â
Hearing the manager call her bad luck, Olivia instantly flared up. âD a m n it! I donât even care about it!â
She then strode out of the bar.
Olivia, with her disheveled hair and bloodied face, s t a g g e e d down the street. She didnât have the money to go to the hospital, and her head was so dizzy
that she couldnât even cry.
Passersby avoided Olivia as if she were a plague.
Olivia gritted her teeth, knowing that her current predicament was entirely Ginaâs fault. One day, she would make Gina pay, dismembering her limb from
limbl
She coughed, spat up a mouthful of blood, and nearly fell to the ground, but suddenly someone caught her.
âMiss, are you alright?â a girl asked, showing concern.
Olivia looked up and saw the girl.
The girl looked at her with worry. âLet me take you to the hospitalâ
Olivia shook her head. âNo need, I donât have any money.â

away and leave.
As she said this, she tried to push the girl away
The girl felt pity for her, âIâll pay for your medical expenses!â
Looking at Oliviaâs appearance, she thought she looked so pitiful that she wanted to help her.
âWhy not take advantage of the offer?â Oliviaâs initial thought was such.
So, Olivia followed the girl to the hospital, where her wounds were treated. The two of them sat on a bench in the hospital corridor to rest.
âOlivia, your name is very nice,â the girl said with a smile.
Oh, Olivia replied noncommittally.
The girl continued, âMy name is Cathy Fowler.â
âMmm.â Olivia nodded.
Cathy asked cautiously, âHow did you get injured like this? Were you beaten up? Did you call the police? Where are your family?â
Olivia was growing impatient and responded directly, âIâm an orphan.â
After saying that, she gave a self-deprecating laugh.
Cathy realized she had said the wrong thing. âIâm sorry, I didnât know⦠Were you bullied? If you need help, Iâll do my best to assist you.â
Olivia thought she was talking too much. âI need money. Can you give me some?â
She still owed Gina several million dollars, after all.
Cathy was taken aback. âHow⦠how much?â
â10 dollars, for a taxi ride home,â Olivia said.
Cathy
y was relieved. âWell, I do have that much.â
Olivia was taken aback. âWhy do I feel like youâre a bit naive? Do you even know me? And youâre willing to help me?â
âMy mom says, helping others is a good virtue!â
Olivia was speechless for a moment. âIâll pay you back for the medical expenses.â
âActually,
y, if you donât have the money, you donât have to pay me back. Letâs just consider it a way to make a friend!â
