Chapter 1196
The Substitute Wife: My Poor Husband Is A Billionaire
Chapter 1196 The End Of Lola
In the ward, Garrett and Laney were having a heart-to-heart talk. Janet did not want to disturb them.
Since Lola was still locked up and hadnât been dealt with, she decided on dealing with Lola first.
âLet me out! You canât keep me in captivity here. This is illegal!â
Lola screamed her threats at Mesue. âDo you know who I work for? A mere bodyguard like you canât
afford to offend the Harding family.â Mesue kept a straight face, letting her words in one ear and out the
other.
Janet wasnât expecting to see Lola still this arrogant. With a sneer, she looked at Lola coldly.
When Lola finally saw Janet, she fell silent for a moment, then craned her neck and pretended to be
calm.
âJanet, let me out. Iâm working for Mr. Harding. You wonât really dare hurt me, right? You canât go
against the Harding family.â Lola was so foolish and naive that it amused Janet. âFrom what I know, you
have a younger brother studying in Barnes. You came here for him, right?â
Lolaâs heart tightened. Fear rose in her chest, making her breathing slow. âWhat do you want?â Janet
spoke slowly, making sure her every word was clear. âFrom now on, no one from your family is allowed
to set foot on Barnes again. As for you, you can confess your sins in prison for the rest of your life.â
The serious look on Janetâs face, matched with the severity of her statement, made Lola tremble in
fear. Her face turned paper white as she shouted, âI donât believe you! Mr. Harding will help me! Miss
Gibson wonât let me suffer here!â
Coldly, Janet smiled and said, âThis is what Garrett had wanted. You attempted to hurt his wife. Do you
really expect his father to save you? The Harding family wonât help you now. Do you really think Mr.
Harding will choose you, a mere assistant over his son?â
Lola looked like a ghost now. She stared at Janet, eyes blank and lips trembling.
âYouâre lucky Laney is fine now.â Janet looked Lola straight in the eyes. Her voice was chilling when
she continued, âOtherwise, you will be charged with homicide. Youâll be a murderer because you
conspired with Kailee to k*ill Laney. Now Kailee could only be desperate to get rid of you, how can she
possibly help you?â
Lolaâs heart sank. âKailee⦠She lied to me⦠I had no idea she was planning on k*illing Mrs.
Hardingâ¦â
However, her chance to repent had passed. It was too late now.
Garrettâs men were already quietly waiting at the door. When Janet and Lolaâs conversation was over,
they stormed in and took Lola out.
They covered her mouth and all she could do was whimper. âWaah⦠Waahâ¦â
Lola struggled hard, but she was too weak to resist the brute force of a group of strong men. No matter
how desperate she was to break away, she couldnât do anything to prevent them from dragging her.
Despite seeing that Lola was finally getting dragged out, the anger in Janetâs heart was still raging.
Laney almost died. How could she calm down? Brandon let out a dragged sigh. He had been following
her silently all this time. Wrapping Janet in his arms, he patted her head softly while comforting her,
âDonât worry. Itâs all over. Both Laney and her baby are fine. As for Kailee, Iâm sure Garrett will deal with
her well. He will never let go of anyone who hurt Laney.â
Janet buried her head in Brandonâs arms. Her voice was muffled as she said, âI was so scared. Laney
almost died. Brandon, do you think something like that would happen to me?â Holding Janet tightly in
his arms, Brandon promised solemnly, âNo. I promise to protect you the best I can. I will never put you
in any harm.â
The whole day, Janet had been nothing but anxious. Only now had she finally relaxed. She held on to
Brandon tightly, releasing the tension on her shoulders and the fear in her heart. Tears burst out from
her eyes.
With a sigh, Brandon kept Janet wrapped in his arms, not minding the tears that soaked his expensive
designer suit.
