Chapter 69
Trapped with My Billionaire Ex-Husband (Blair and Sebastian)
Chapter 69
SEBASTIAN
I didnât waste any minutes. I drove straight to my friend's house. Since
becoming a family man, he always gets home by five in the afternoon.
That's why, instead of heading to his house, I went straight to his
house. I'm determined to get my son, no matter what happens. And
Lucas is the best lawyer I've known and a good friend of mine. If I want
to win this battle, I need him by my side.
âMr. Foster, good evening,â one of the maids greeted me.
âGood evening. Please inform Lucas of my presence,â I told her. I didnât
get the chance to call before showing up. I was so focused on getting
the job done that I didn't see the need to call.
It didn't take long before Lucas walked down the stairs to greet me.
âSebastian? What brings you here?â Lucas was greeted with a frown.
âI need your help,â I said straightforwardly. I didnât come here to beat
around the bush.
âSure. Let's go to my office,â he said as he led the way to his office.
âI hope Garried doesnât mind me barging in unannounced,â I said as he
stepped inside his home office.
âOh, she does mind, bud. I have a strict bedtime, you know? She only
allows me to talk to you for fifteen minutes. So, I need to be back to my
wife's arm as soon as possible,â he answered as he continued to walk
towards the bar counter before pouring a glass of scotch. âWhat's up?
Your clock is ticking,â he chuckled before handing me one of the
glasses that he had prepared.
He walked around his work desk while I took the liberty of sitting on the
chair in front of his table.
âDonât worry. This wouldn't take long,â I answered.
âOkay, shoot!â he said as he sat on his swivel chair before sipping from
his glass.
âI need you to be my lawyer,â I started.
âOf course! That's why I'm in your retainer, right? So, what is this all
about?â he asked curiously.
âI need you to do everything in my power to get me my son,â I said.
âWait? You have a son?â He asked in utter surprise. âAnd here I thought
I was your best friend. You didn't even bother telling me?â He said, then
acted as if he'd truly been wounded.
âIf it makes you feel better, I've also become aware of it a few hours
ago. Thanks to my ex-wife,â I said,
He frowned and stared at me for a minute. âWait a minute. You had a
son with Blaire, and she didn't tell you about it?"
âWhy do you think I'm here, dumbass?â
He raises his eyebrow before he drinks the glass of scotch in one go,
then puts it on the table. âWell, bad news is, this dumbass will drop your
pompous ass. I will not be your lawyer; as a matter of fact, I might
volunteer to become Blair's lawyer to make sure that you won't get her
son away from her,â he said before indulging in a death glare challenge
with me. âWhat the hell are you talking about? I'm not paying you a
million dollars to go against my order!â
âNo, you donât. But I'm doing this for you as a friend. Consider this my
giftâ he said with an annoying smirk on his face.
âYou've
got to be kidding me! I need to be with my son, and you're telling me
you're not going to help? How can that be a gift?â I'm starting to get
irritated. I thought this would be the easiest part of my journey to get my
son, but it seems like I was wrong. What the hell is wrong with him?

âOkay, let me explain this, bud. First, I'm a corporate lawyer. Custody
battles aren't my expertise. And even if I can clearly win your case with
my talent and brilliance, I'm not going to do something that you're going
to regret in the end.â
âI donât know what you're talking about,â I said, rolling my eyes at him
before drinking the glass of scotch up to its last drop. I didn't wait for
him to offer me another glass. I walked towards the mini bar and
poured myself.
âLet me ask you a question. Instead of wasting your money with
lawyers, why don't you just try to get Blaire back? In that case, it solves
all your problems.â
âYou know I canât do that. I'm married,â I answered. That word feels
alien to me. I canât remember when was the last time that I even
considered myself a married person.
âAnd that, my friend, is the reason why,â Lucas said without much
context.
I frowned at him, contemplating what he was trying to say. âYou have to
be more specific.â
He then walked towards me, snatched the bottle of scotch with my
hand, and poured it into his glass. âThe mere fact that your answer to
my question was that you're married, instead of saying you don't love
her, It seems like you are more in need of a divorce lawyer than a
family law attorney,â he smirked before clicking his glass against mine.
I was stunned for a minute. I hate that Lucas makes a good point. But
the problem was me. I'm too proud to admit that I've been so stupid in
the past. I made decisions that I truly regret, yet I have no courage to
make them right. I just kind of let everything be as is.
Lucas tapped my shoulder, which brought me back to my senses.
âListen carefully, bud. Coming from a person who also tried to divorce
his wife out of pride, which he definitely failed and regretted in the end,
wooing the mother is the best and most effective way to get your son
without a sweat.â
I immediately shoved his hand away from my shoulder. âYou're no use,â
I said before finishing my glass. âI'm leaving. If you're not going to help
me, then I'm going to find another lawyer who can do it.â
âBe my guest, Sebastian. But let me remind you: if you go down that
path, expect me to come running towards Blaireâs side. And I promise
you, I'll make sure you're not going to win,â he smirked before raising
his glass as a toast.
âWho's side are you on?" I asked irritatedly.
âI'm on the side of love,â he chuckled. âTrust me, you're going to thank
me sooner rather than later,â he added.
âFck you!â I cursed him before leaving his office. As soon as I stepped
out of his office, I bumped into his wife, Garrie.
âOh! Hi, Sebastian. Leaving so soon?" she asked curiously.
âYes, because your husband is being a 4ss.â
She giggled. âHe's not Lucas if he isn't.â
"How's the kids?â
âThey're fine. They're asleep. They still have school tomorrow.â
âMotherhood soothes you well. You make it look like taking care of
three kids seems easy.â
âOh, trust me, it isn't,â she said.
I was about to respond again when I heard a thunderous voice behind
me. âStop flirting with my wife! Lucas warned me.
Carrie rolls her eyes at her husband. âYou're not cute. Stop being
jealous of everyone!â
I chuckled. âI think I have to goâ
âYeah, you should be!â Lucas yelled.

âLucas, stop it!â Garried tried to calm him down.
I just raised my middle finger to him as a response.

Leaving Lucasâs house, his words weighed heavily on my mind. His
suggestion to avoid fighting Blaire in court made sense, but I felt unsure
about where to start.

Lost in thought, I drove home almost automatically, the sound of the
engine blending with my swirling thoughts. I snapped back to reality
when the security guard knocked on my car window, reminding me of
my surroundings. Shaking off my daze, I parked and stepped out of the
car, feeling grounded but still uncertain about the future.
As I entered the house, a heavy weight settled in my chest, weighing
me down with a sense of unease. I hadn't even fully stepped inside
when the sound of a familiar voice cut through the silence, pulling me
from my thoughts.
âWhere have you been, Sebastian?â
