An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1327
Dustin quickly noticed a few hostile gazes upon leaving Regal Court. With a swift glance, he identified at least two groups of people that had their eyes on him.
It seemed like Lana was right. Enchanting Elegance was a valuable treasure, and it attracted a lot of unwarranted trouble.
Ordinary folks were not necessarily able to hold on to such a treasure even if they happened to get their hands on it.
Luckily, Dustin was far from ordinary.
âSince you have targeted me, letâs see if you have what it takes to take it from me.â Dustin snorted. Without a sound, he moved toward a secluded area. The two groups followed him discreetly from the left and right side.
After about ten minutes of walking, Dustin turned into a deserted old alley.
âThis is a great chance! Follow him!â More than a dozen black-clad men armed with knives rushed after Dustin into the old alley.
But soon, they were in shock. And that was because they realized they were in a dead-end, and Dustin was nowhere to be found.
âWhatâs going on? Where did that guy go?â
âThis is strange. I definitely saw him go in. Where did he go?â
âDamn! Heâs not a ghost, is he?â
The black-clad men exchanged looks of confusion and disbelief. How could a person simply disappear without a trace like that?
âLooking for me?â They suddenly heard a cold, impassive voice behind them. The group was shocked to see Dustin standing at the alleyâs entrance.
âYou⦠Werenât you in front of us? How did you end up behind us?â one of the black-clad men exclaimed in surprise.
It was already dark out, and the moon shone brightly. Dustin kept his head slightly lowered. With half of his face shrouded in darkness, he exuded an icy aura. It intensified the already eerie atmosphere, making it more chilling and terrifying.
âYouâve been following me for so long. What do you want?â Dustin asked coldly. âSo, youâve already noticed us for a while now. Youâve got some skills.â
The leader of the group stepped forward and yelled, âBrat! Save the bullshit! We work for anyone who pays us. If you donât want to die, hand over what youâre holding right now!â
âThe item is right here. Come and take it if you can.â Dustin calmly placed the box with Enchanting Elegance inside on the ground. Then, he gestured forward with his finger.
âHmph! You asked for this! Get him!â the leader shouted and charged forward with his group. Dustin sneered. With a light tap of his foot, he transformed into a ghostly shadow and charged right into the group of people.
With a series of agonized screams, the black-clad men were sent soaring into the air before landing heavily on the ground. It wasnât long before they were writhing in pain and howling in agony.
âTell me, who sent you?â Dustin gripped the leader by the throat and lifted him off the ground.
âI⦠I donât know⦠Iâm just following orders after getting paid.â The leaderâs face contorted with fear as his body trembled.
He had thought it was just a simple job. He never expected their target to be this strong. In the blink of an eye, Dustin had defeated every one of them. It was truly terrifying!
âYou donât know, or are you just unwilling to talk?â Dustin tightened his grip. The leader felt his breath constricting. With his face turning red and the veins in his neck bulging, he started to struggle desperately.
âI ⦠really donât know. There are rules in our line of work. We never ask about our clientâs identity,â the leader said with great difficulty.
âWhat utter trash!â Dustin lost interest. With a flick of his hand, he smashed the leader against the wall, rendering him unconscious.
These people only had basic combat skills. They couldnât even be considered martial artists.
