An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1328
This meant that the mastermind behind his assault didnât see him as a big threat. It could also mean that the person didnât hold considerable power.
Dustin dusted off his clothes and put the box away. He was just about to leave when a few black SUVs pulled up at the opening of the old alley. The car doors flung open, and a group of muscular men dressed in fighting gear charged out.
Every one of them was armed and surrounded Dustin as soon as they got out of the car, leaving him with no chance of escape.
âMove aside!â At that moment, a burly man strolled confidently toward him with a cigar in his mouth. He had a scar on his face and an imposing presence. It was clear that he had bad intentions.
âItâs you?â Dustin narrowed his eyes slightly, recognizing the man. It was none other than Ziggy, who had caused trouble in Harmony Healers earlier that day.
âBrat, we meet again!â Ziggy puffed on his cigar. With his bulging belly and hands on his hips, he was clad in a faux mink coat. He looked exactly like a snob who had recently climbed the social ladder.
âWhat did you just call me?â Dustin raised an eyebrow.
âWhat? You deaf? I just called you a brat!â Ziggy glowered. Three minutes later, Ziggy was crouched on the ground with a swollen nose and a bruised face.
âBud⦠Buddy, we can talk it out. Please donât hit me in the face.â
He had completely abandoned his earlier arrogance, appearing timid and fearful. Several other men were lying in various positions on the ground around him.
He was extremely cautious this time and brought around 20 to 30 men with him. However, his men were beaten to the ground in less than three minutes.
He didnât even notice what Dustin had done. All he saw was a blur; the next thing he knew, his men were falling like dominoes. It was clear that he had provoked someone he shouldnât have.
âZiggy, to be honest, I liked your previous defiant attitude better,â Dustin said as he pulled him up.
âB-Buddy, please stop joking,â Ziggy pleaded with a mournful expression. âI was ignorant. Iâm sorry for provoking you earlier. Please spare me. I promise never to go against you ever again!â
âDo you really think you can walk away with just a few words?â Dustin asked indifferently. âW-What do you want to know? Iâll tell you everything!â Ziggy caught on quickly.
âYouâre pretty smart.â Dustin smiled faintly.
âLet me ask you, did Zion send you?â
âYes. Mr. Swanson wanted the formula for Dew Balm and sent us to take it from you.â Ziggy nodded repeatedly.
âOther than your group, did Zion send anyone else?â Dustin asked again. âN-No, itâs just us. Mr. Swanson didnât take you as a serious threat,â Ziggy replied meekly.
âGreat.â Dustin let go of him and smiled.
âGo back and tell Zion to arrange a place for us to meet tomorrow. We can have a proper discussion then.â
âWhat?â Ziggy was taken aback and didnât know how to react. Dustin was going to negotiate with Zion? Wasnât he sending himself into the lionâs den that way? What was he up to?
âWhatâs the matter? Is there a problem with that?â Dustinâs smile didnât waver. âNo, not at all. Iâll make sure to deliver the message.â Ziggy forced a smile.
âAlright, you can leave now,â Dustin waved. âThank you! Thank you so much!â Ziggy lit up with gratitude. Keeping his head bowed, he limped to the car.
âHold onâ¦â When he heard Dustinâs voice again, Ziggy froze in place and broke out in a sweat.
âB-Buddy, youâre not changing your mind, are you?â
âNext time, when youâre going to act tough, donât wear faux mink. Itâs embarrassing.â With that, Dustin left, leaving Ziggy standing there in a daze, looking bright red.
