âMr. Swanson, you seem sincere in wanting the formula. How about this? Iâll take a loss and cover the extra costs. Iâll only need the first ten herbs. How does that sound?â Dustin put on a reluctant front.
â10 herbs wonât do, either!â Zion maintained his grim expression.
âThen how many will you agree to?â Dustin sought a compromise.
âOne.â Zion raised one finger.
âI can only give you one!â
âOne herb?â Dustin frowned.
âMr. Swanson, is this some kind of joke? I donât think negotiation works like this.â
âYour Dew Balm formula is only worth one top-grade precious herb. Thatâs all I can offer.â Zion was getting impatient.
If Dustin had merely asked for money, he could have managed the situation. However, Dustin was throwing out exorbitant demands and treating him like a fool.
âSince youâre not cooperating, letâs forget about today. Iâm sure there will be someone else who would be interested.â Dustin didnât waste his breath and prepared to leave.
âStand right there!â Zion slammed his hand on the table.
He shouted, âDid I say you could leave?â âWhatâs the matter? Do you want me to stay for tea?â Dustin asked as he turned back.
âFuck your tea!â Zion exploded into a rage and hurled a teacup to the ground with a loud crash. The next thing Dustin knew, chaos erupted. The patrons, who were pretending to enjoy their tea, suddenly pulled out weapons from under their tables.
In no time, Dustin found himself surrounded by 50 to 60 men. Even the hallway was blocked by bodies.
âYou brat! You think you can just come and go as you please? What do you take me for?â Zion suddenly stood up, not bothering to keep up with the pretense.
He threatened, âYouâre now left with two options. Either you willingly hand over the Dew Balm formula, or Iâll beat you until youâre forced to give it up!â
âMr. Swanson, is it worth destroying our relationship over a failed business negotiation? Are you really going to resort to thievery now?â Dustin looked around, maintaining a calm demeanor.
âIâm done with your nonsense! If you donât hand over the formula, you wonât be leaving this place!â Zion yelled.
âIs that so? Well, letâs just see how capable the Swansons are.â Dustin sneered.
âMr. Swanson, this guy is really good at fighting. Be careful,â Ziggy cautioned. âSo what if he can fight? Iâve got almost 60 men here. Just what is he going to do to us?â
Zion glared at him, âWhat the hell are you all waiting for? Get him!â
âHold it right there!â Just as the Swansonsâ men were about to attack, someone suddenly shouted in the hallway.
Following the voice, a strikingly beautiful and tall woman forcefully pushed her way through the crowd. Two burly bodyguards were with her, kicking aside anyone who blocked her path.
âWho the hell dares-âZion slammed his hand on the table and was about to rip into the newcomer when he saw who it was..
Startled, he quickly smiled and âOh approached her eagerly. my, it Ms. Welch? What brings you here today?â isnât Without a word, the woman slapped Zion across the face. She yelled, âYou bastard! How dare you touch my friend? Are you tired of living?
âHuh?â Zion was bewildered. He was at a loss as he clutched his throbbing face.
âF-Friend?â
âHey, miracle doctor, we meet again.â After dealing with Zion, the woman turned her attention to Dustin and smiled cutely.
âItâs you?â Dustin recognized her instantly. It was none other than Eleanor Welch, the Welch familyâs heiress he had rescued the day before.
