Chapter 1730 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âWhat did you say?â Grace was taken aback, thinking she had heard Dustin wrong.
âHonestly, I think youâd be great as Queen, and the King probably agrees. That is why, if youâre interested, Iâll represent the West Lucozian monarchy and back you fully,â Dustin said with a smile.
âLogan, stop joking! Itâs not funny.â Graceâs tone grew serious. âIâm just a woman. Iâm not qualified to sit on the throne. The monarchy would never accept me.â
âSo what if youâre a woman?â Dustin asked. He continued seriously, âWho said women werenât allowed to ascend to the throne? Queen Mary I is an example.
âEven though youâre a little younger than when she became queen, you still have space to grow. As long as youâre willing to work hard, I donât see a problem.â
âLogan, I appreciate your trust in me, but the thought never crossed my mind. So, please abandon that idea,â Grace refused firmly.
Throughout history, there have only been a handful of queens. And even then, everything aligned perfectly for them to have that glimmer of hope.
Grace didnât think she was comparable to those legendary queens. Most importantly, once she decided to fight for the throne, it would undoubtedly shock the world.
If that day came, it would lead to another storm of bloodshed and chaos. This was not something she was willing to witness.
âIf you donât want to, then just forget about it. I just brought it up casually. However, if you ever change your mind, just let me know anytime,â Dustin said with a faint smile.
As Valon had said, Grace was actually the most fitting candidate among the royal heirs to ascend to the throne.
Unfortunately, she was a woman, and her path to power would be fraught with difficulties. It wouldnât be only her brothers-the entire monarchy would never accept this outcome.
Of course, it still depended on Grace. If she had the ambition, Dustin would support her wholeheartedly. If she didnât, then she should just consider it a playful remark.
âYour thoughts are so erratic. Why bring up such a random thing?â Grace was puzzled.
âItâs nothing. I just think youâre the most suitable. Perhaps, if you become Queen, the world would change.â
Dustin chuckled.
âDonât be silly. Itâs impossible. You should focus on my three brothers.â Grace shook her head.
âThereâs no need to rush. Choosing the next heir isnât something thatâs going to happen overnight. Letâs just go with the flow.â
Dustin patted his stomach and asked, â Grace, do you have anything to eat here? Iâm hungry again.â
âWait a moment, Iâll make you something,â Grace responded.
âReally? A princess can actually cook?â Dustin was surprised.
âIs it that surprising?â Grace rolled her eyes. âI left the palace a long time ago and spent most of my time exploring the outside world. Isnât it normal for me to know how to cook?â
âI see.â Dustin chuckled. âSeems like itâs my lucky day. Iâm actually getting to try the princessâ cooking.â
âDonât tease me!â Grace was slightly annoyed. âThere are fruits in the living room. Have a snack if youâre hungry. Iâll be done in a while.â 2
With that, she left the bedroom and started busying herself in the kitchen.
Dustin rolled out of bed. Facing the sunlight streaming in through the window, he stretched lazily and felt refreshed.
Since the situation with the Dragon Guard had been settled for now, it was time to return to West Lucozia.
