Chapter 1864 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âOh? It seems like you got prepared in advance.â Rufus smiled meaningfully. Dustin was indeed cunning. After all, he only did all of this to pressure Julius.
After eating Rejuvenatium, Julius wouldnât dare to reveal any of his hidden intentions if he had any.
âI donât trust Uncle Julius, so I must take precautions. That way, our efforts wonât be in vain if he acts recklessly and rebels again.â Dustin shrugged.
âItâs a good thing to be on alert. However, is it reliable to use your uncle as bait?â
Rufus added thoughtfully, âReagan is very capable and cunning. Itâs difficult to be able to deceive him.â
âWe cannot succeed with Uncle Julius alone. Thereâs no way Reagan would trust someone that he had just partnered with. Thus, we will need to prepare another plan,â Dustin replied.
âOh? Do you have a good plan?â Rufus raised an eyebrow.
âI cannot reveal it. Youâll get to know when the time comes,â Dustin teased.
âYou brat! Youâre going to hide from your father?â Rufus said irritably.
âIâm not hiding from you but from the people around you. Nobody knows if thereâs a spy around you. Thereâs no harm in being cautious.â Dustin smiled.
âAlright. Youâre all grown up now and can act independently. Thus, Iâll leave this matter entirely in your hands.â
Rufus yawned. âIâm tired, so I will head to my room and rest. You two brothers should discuss this thoroughly. West Lucoziaâs future relies on the both of you.â
After saying that, he waved his hands and left.
âAustin, change your outfit and head out with me. If everything goes as planned, there should be a blood bath tonight.
âWe need to get prepared for it in advance.â After informing the others, Dustin left with Austin in their disguises.
Only a few people were worthy of their trust in the entire castle. Dustin had to be careful of the others. After Cinna betrayed him, Dustin was now suspicious of everyone.
It was soon nighttime.
At this moment, Julius was dressed elegantly in a Stonian restaurant located on the outskirts of the castle. He was sipping on coffee, seemingly calm. However, Julius would occasionally scan his surroundings cautiously.
After consuming the Rejuvenatium that Dustin had given, Juliusâ injuries recovered by half. However, he felt that there was something else in his body.
However, he didnât find anything odd after examining it. It was quite weird.
Actually, Julius had been faking his surrender all along. He planned to defect from West Lucozia and become a member of the Dragon Guard after meeting with Reagan.
However, Julius changed his mind after taking Dustinâs pill.
After all, Julius couldnât risk his life. Juliusâ biggest problem right now was how he should poison Reagan and redeem his sins.
Deicide Venom was different from ordinary poisons that could dissolve in water. Instead, it needed to be used through weapons.
Its effective range was ten feet.
If Julius were beyond ten feet away from the enemy, it wouldnât be that effective. Plus, it was hard to succeed if the enemy was on guard.
Julius and Reagan werenât friends. They were only partnering for their own interests. Thus, Julius couldnât win over his trust fully.
Julius had to find a way to make him let down his guard.
Suddenly, the restaurantâs door swung open.
