Chapter 286 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âI was, but Iâm already divorced,â Dustin answered straightforwardly. âAw, damn!â Adam grinned. âIf thatâs the case, my sister finally has a chance! Iâll be your brotherâinâlaw soon.â
âGet lost!â Dustin rolled his eyes. âWhat kind of brother are you? Why would you throw your sister under the bus?â
âShe threw herself in!â Adam retorted in exasperation. âYou have no idea how much she bugged me alter finding out that you were still alive. She would have flown back for you if the war hadnât broken out at the border.â
âHas Scarlet been well?â Dustin suddenly asked. âYouâre still worried about her? That kidâs been practicing martial arts since young, and with her talent, sheâs already a grandmaster. I canât even win against her anymore. Who would dare to cross her?â Adam responded nervously.
All his life, Adam has only ever been afraid of two peopleâ Dustin, the person whoâs been throwing punches at him since they were kids, and his sister Scarlet. He always lost his dignity when it came to them.
Dustin chuckled. âShe is talented, so itâs natural that you canât beat her.â
Itâs been ten years. He never expected the little girl who used to follow him around everywhere to become
Stoniaâs wellâknown Goddess of War.
âWonât you just marry her? No one else can handle her!â Adam implored. The sooner his sister got married, the
sooner heâll be free from being forced to be her sparring partner and ending up with bruises all over his body
every day.
âNonsense!â Dustin kicked the other man. âScarletâs nothing more than a sister to me.â
âBut she might not see you as her brother.â Adam shrugged. âIâm just going to put it out there. She probably wonât marry anyone but you, so youâll have to take responsibility for her.â
âThatâs enough. Shut up and drink!â Irritated, Dustin poured Adam a full glass of wine. âDrink it!â
Adam boldly downed the entire glass in response.
Chatting away while drinking, the two of them quickly began to feel tipsy.
âThat reminds me, when are you going back?â Adam asked coldly.
âWhy would I go back? Isnât it quite nice here? All I need to worry about is making sure Gregory recovers nicely.
âDustin responded indifferently.
âThatâs true. Still, the Rhys family needs an heir.â Adam sighed.
âThereâs still Austin.â
âThat useless idiot? He only cares about his debaucherous pleasures. Who knows how many people will die if he takes your place.â Adam snapped disdainfully.

âHe isnât that bad. The kidâs smart. Just give him some time, and he might outshine you.â Dustin said seriously.
âAre you serious? Youâre pitting me against him?â Adam looked at him suspiciously.
âMany people have called me a loser in the past few years too.â Dustin smiled but didnât elaborate further. With that woman around, his stepâbrother could never be mediocre.
âHoly shit! Look at that chick!â Adam lit up suddenly.
âWhere?â Dustin followed Adamâs line of sight and spotted a Lamborghini at the restaurant entrance. A smartly dressed man emerged, and a gorgeous lady stepped out of the passenger side in a long black dress, as if she had just come out of a painting.
âWhy is it her?â Dustin frowned, instantly sobering.
The beautiful woman was none other than Dahlia!
