Chapter 541 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
âWhat?â Dustin frowned when Florenceâs gaze swept toward him. âWhy are you looking at me? Are you telling me to be the scapegoat? What the fuck?â he thought.
âDustinâ¦â Florence forced a smile. She took an apple out of her fruit basket and handed it to Dustin. âArenât you hungry? Here, have an apple.â
âWhat are you trying to do?â Dustin looked at her warily. It only raised suspicions more with Florence going out of her way to be kind to him.
âWell, you heard what we said, didnât you?â Florence forced out a sweet, kind smile. âYouâve always been a kind person. Iâm sure you canât bear to see us lose our money like this, so I hope you can do us a favor.â
âWhat favor?â Dustin had his guard up.
âDonât you know a few rich women? Why donât you help us sell off those abandoned buildings?
â
âYouâre asking me to scam people for you?â Dustin raised an eyebrow.
âHow could you say that?â Florence feigned innocence. âWeâre not deceiving anyone; weâre simply repurposing waste. Those wealthy people arenât short on money anyway, so think of it as doing a good deed.â
âSheâs right!â Julie nodded. âDustin, the abandoned buildings in Eastville might seem worthless now, but they actually have high potential. We donât have the financial ability to continue developing them, but they might have a new chance if those who are rich take over them.â
âHold on.â Dustin raised his hand to stop Julie. âWhere did you say the buildings were?â
âEastville, near the suburbs. Why?â Julie was puzzled.
âThe abandoned buildings in Eastville?â After getting confirmation, Dustin smiled. âYou guys got lucky. Those buildings are worth a lot of money.â
âWorth a lot of money?â The others exchanged confused glances. They couldnât understand how that failed investment could be worth any money. Besides, why would they sell those buildings if they knew they were of any worth?
âI heard that those buildings are going to be redeveloped soon, so you guys hit the jackpot this time,â Dustin said with a smile. This was what Azalea had told him earlier at the cafe. He just didnât expect Florence and the others to be lucky enough to get a head start.
âWhat nonsense are you spouting?â Julie frowned. âThose buildings have been abandoned for
more than seven years. No one dares to take over it, yet youâre saying that theyâre going to be redeveloped? What a joke!â
âSheâs right. If they were worth a lot of money, people would have fought to snatch them up instead of leaving them there.â Victoria huffed.
âWhere did you get that fake news, Dustin? Shut up if you donât know anything!â James snapped. It was bad enough that Terrence had successfully scammed them, but did Dustin think that they were idiots? How could he lie to them as well?
âIâm not lying. Those buildings will be astonishingly valuable,â Dustin replied calmly.â Thereâs a good chance that those properties under your name will multiply in value tremendously in a few days, so you shouldnât sell them off.â
âNonsense! Multiply by several times? Thatâs nothing but wishful thinking!â Julie snapped.
âEven if youâre not going to help, why are you trying to deceive us?â Florence dropped the act, and her tone turned harsh.
âItâs just friendly advice. If you donât believe me, forget it.â Dustin shrugged. He believed that Azalea wouldnât tell such a lie, so it was very likely that those buildings were going to shoot up in value soon. It was just that not many people knew about that yet.
âIâm just telling you to find a scapegoat. Why do you keep talking nonsense? Youâre so useless! âFlorence snapped resentfully.
