Chapter 542 by Marina Vittori
An Understated Dominance
Florence was sure that Dustin was merely refusing to help them. Just then, Julie thought of an idea and said, âDustin, didnât you say that those buildings are worth a lot? Weâll sell them to you right now so that you can make a lot of money. What do you think?â
âThatâs right!â Florence echoed. âYou should buy them since you seem so interested. Thatâll benefit both of us.â
âThis is your opportunity. How could I take it away from you?â Dustin refused politely. âItâs alright. Weâre a family. Weâll be happy if you make money too.â Florence coaxed enthusiastically, gleeful to have found a scapegoat.
âSheâs right, Dustin. Donât worry about it. You shouldnât miss such a great opportunity.â
âExactly. Just remember to treat us to a meal when you get rich.â
Everyone smiled so sweetly and acted extremely enthusiastically after finding such a dumb scapegoat.
âAre you sure you want to sell them to me?â Dustin pressed.
âOf course! We wonât take a single penny from you. We just want you to return the principal.â Florence frantically nodded.
âAre you sure you wonât regret your decision?â Dustin raised an eyebrow.
âI swear it on my life!â Florence swore.
âSheâs right. We swear it on our lives.â The others echoed.
âAlright, then. Iâll buy them.â Dustin smiled. Thereâs no reason for him to refuse free money.
âAre you crazy? Those buildings are worthless! Why would you purchase them?â Dahlia couldnât watch this go on anymore. She didnât expect him to actually buy them.
âWe should let him buy them if thatâs what he wants. Why are you stopping him?â Julie grumbled.
âSheâs right. You shouldnât stop him from earning big money.â Florence shot her daughter a look, telling her to not stop him from being their scapegoat, or they would lose all their
money.
âEnough!â Dahlia frowned. âI donât care if you try to swindle others, but I wonât allow you to do that to Dustin!â
âWeâre not forcing him to buy them; he volunteered.â Julie huffed.
âDonât buy them, Dustin!â Dahlia warned.
âTheyâll be worth a lot of money soon. Just trust me.â Dustin smiled tiredly.
âTheyâre obviously trying to scam you. Why wonât you listen to me?â Dahlia was frustrated at how stubborn he was being.
âLet them be. I have enough money anyway.â Dustin remained unaffected.
âYou!â Furious, she spat. âFine! Do as you please. I donât care anymore!â She walked over to the other bed and sat down angrily, ignoring him.
âForget about her, Dustin. Letâs continue our discussion. Oh, right. James? Hurry up and print out the contract. We should get this over with today.â Florence tugged on Dustinâs arm, worried he might escape.
âNo problem!â With twinkling eyes, James dashed out of the room.
âIâll prepare a contract too.â Julie quickly followed suit.
The contracts were signed twenty minutes later. Dustin received the title deeds, while Florence and the others got back their money.
As soon as they received the money, Florence and the others began cackling and jeering at Dustin, whom they believed was an idiot. They marveled at the idiot they found.
