Chapter 1916
When Love Comes Late
As Stella and Lucia talked, Matthew returned to the living room with the two older men.
After exchanging a few words, Waldo noticed Luciaâs teary eyes and asked sympathetically, âWhat were you discussing that moved you so much?â
Wiping her tears, Lucia shook her head and said, âI feel deeply sorry for Stella.
Sheâs endured so much since childhood.
After all these years, she finally found her biological mother.
â
Both Waldo and Clint were taken aback.
Clint, especially, was shocked.
He hadnât expected Stella to reveal the truth to her mother so quickly.
Just the day before in Bysea, she was still grappling with the situation, and now, it was resolved in a single day.
âDid your mother accept you?â Clint asked.
Stella nodded and said, âYes.
â
âWhy did you decide so suddenly?â Clint inquired, still surprised.
Stella explained, âYesterday, Matthew and I had to leave abruptly because my mother was in a car accident.
I had been hesitant about disclosing our relationship to her.
But after yesterdayâs events, I realized I canât always be so cautious and indecisive.
If thereâs something to say, we shouldnât wait because we might not get another chance.
â
Clint noticed that Stellaâs eyes were slightly red as she spoke.
He sighed and said, âSometimes, what we worry about turns out to be less daunting than we imagine.
â
Stella nodded, smiling.
âYes, it turns out revealing the truth to my mother wasnât as difficult as I imagined.
â
Seeing her happiness, Clint felt genuinely pleased for her.
âHow is your mother now? Is her injury serious?â
âSheâs doing well.
The doctor said she can be discharged after a few more days of observation,â Stella replied.
Clint breathed a sigh of relief.
âItâs wonderful that youâve finally reunited with your mother.
This accident turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
â
After Clint asked about Bellaâs condition, Waldo chimed in, âYour mother is Bella, the famous designer in Dorburn?â
Stella confirmed, âYes, thatâs her.
â
Almost everyone present was delighted by the news.
With a smile, Waldo remarked, âNo wonder youâre so talented in design.
It turns out you inherited it from your mother.
â
Lucia beamed with happiness.
âNow Stella will have one more person to love her in the future.
â
This joyous news lifted everyoneâs spirits, creating a harmonious atmosphere.
Waldo remarked, âStella, itâs wonderful that youâve found your mother.
Once sheâs recovered, we should celebrate with a dinner together.
Matthew, please arrange it.
â
Stella and Matthew exchanged happy smiles at this suggestion.
As the conversation revolved around Stellaâs mother, Lindsay found herself unable to say a word.
She felt completely ignored by everyone.
Her frustration grew when she saw Stella and Matthew exchange affectionate smiles, as if they were an inseparable pair.
However, this was the Clark family home.
To avoid arousing suspicion from Waldo and Lucia, she had to feign happiness despite her growing unhappiness, which only deepened her frustration.
