Hailey was gorgeous, casygoing, and about the same age as Holly, so Holly took an instant liking to the former and felt incredibly lucky to have met her.

Holly was somewhat naive and timid. She had been mocked since childhood due to her weight. Even the slightest kindness from others made her want to repay them tenfold, and when she was bullied, she never dared to fight back.

Perhaps because of her body size, she always paid extra attention to slim and elegant women when walking down the street, admiring them and dreaming that she too could have such a figure one day.

When Holly was walking side by side with Hailey, she felt a bit nervous and couldn’t help but steal glances at Hailey.

Hailey had a great figure, a beautiful face, and perfect skin. Looking at herself, Holly felt she was average in every way, even lacking intelligence.

“Holly, is something bothering you?” Hailey asked.

Holly had been walking with her head lowered, looking dejected.

She shook her head and replied, “I just felt so stupid. Other than this body full of fat, I’m completely useless.”

“Why would you think that?” Hailey asked, slightly surprised.

Holly lifted her head and forced a smile. “That’s just how it is. I can’t do anything well. Even my boyfriend gets frustrated tutoring me because I’m too dumb.” She rubbed her head and continued, “The only thing I seem to be good at is eating.”

Hailey chuckled. “You’re lovely and kind. Why let other people’s words define you? What matters most is how you see yourself.”

Holly looked a little lost. “But nobody likes me. They all call me fat and make fun of me.”

“Does your boyfriend think that way, too?” asked Hailey.

Holly finally smiled and said shyly, “Not really. My boyfriend just has a bad temper. He says he doesn’t mind me being fat, just that I’m too slow–witted. When he explains things to me, I always struggle to understand, and he gets impatient and yells. But aside from that, he’s really good to me.”

Holly added, “Maybe it’s fate’s way of pitying me by giving me such a wonderful boyfriend.”

Hailey sighed slightly and thought, “This isn’t fate pitying you. This is someone eyeing your family’s wealth. This silly girl.

Hailey shook her head subtly and changed the subject without revealing her thoughts.

The two of them left the apartment and hailed a cab at the intersection.

Their first stop was a phone store. Holly insisted on compensating Hailey for the phone, so Hailey had no choice but to agree.

After getting a new phone, Hailey also picked out a tablet and a laptop.

Then they headed to a furniture store.

Hailey bought some decorative items, new curtains, and a few kitchen essentials.

Since everything could be delivered, she provided her address and left with Holly.

Hailey raised an eyebrow and asked, “Really?”

Holly nodded. “I live in Building B, Unit 401. You’re in Building A, and our buildings are right next to each other. This is perfect!”

Hailey smiled and said, “What a coincidence.”

Holly became even more excited after learning that they lived nearby. She took out her phone and said, “Let’s add each other’s numbers. You can come to my place for dinner sometime. I’m a great cook.”

82 Hailey nodded and saved Holly’s number. Then, she said, “Oh, I still need to go to the supermarket. Holly, if you’re busy, you can head home first.”

Holly quickly shook her head and hurriedly said, “I’m not busy at all. It’s winter break now. I’m bored to death!”

“Then let’s go to the supermarket again. I just moved in today, and there’s nothing at home,” said Hailey.

Holly nodded. “Sure.”

The supermarket was on the basement floor of the mall. They grabbed a cart, stored their belongings, and headed inside.

The two ladies bought a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables. As they wandered around, they reached the snack aisle and ended up grabbing a bunch of snacks too.

Holly advised, “Snacks will make you gain weight. Hailey, you have such a great figure. You should eat less of these and stay in shape.” Despite her earlier strictness about weight management, Holly had resigned herself to her situation after becoming this heavy. Hailey, on the other hand, had a great body, and Holly thought it would be a shame if she gained weight because of snacks.

Hailey thought about it and agreed, putting some snacks back.

Holly remembered the calorie counts of various snacks, so she recommended several tasty and healthy options to Hailey.

Hailey couldn’t help but be impressed. “You’re amazing!”

Holly scratched her head in embarrassment and said, “Not really. I just eat too much.”

“If you don’t mind, I can help you create a weight–loss plan,” proposed Hailey.

Holly hesitated. “Wouldn’t that be too much trouble for you?”

Hailey replied, “Not at all. I’m free anyway. It’s winter break, and I don’t have much to do. If you’re interested, I can put together a plan for you tonight.”

“I actually made plans before, but I couldn’t stick to them. Without anyone to push me, I gave up in less than a week. It was just too exhausting.” Holly sighed, staring at the rolls of fat on her stomach. “Maybe I’m just meant to stay like this forever.”

“I’ll keep you on track. Don’t worry, I’ve been through weight loss before–I’ll make sure you follow through.” Hailey said seriously.

“And if you don’t stick to the plan, I’ll scold you.”

What Holly needed most was someone to push her. If that person were too gentle, she wouldn’t have the motivation to follow through. Since Halley was so firm about it, she felt a little tempted to give it a try.

After some hesitation, Holly nodded. “Alright.”

Once they finished checking out, they quickly headed home.

Holly asked curiously, “Do you live here alone?”

Hailey nodded and said, “Yeah.”

“I also live alone. My parents were against it at first, but I figured I’m old enough to be independent, so I convinced them to buy me an apartment.” Holly smiled sheepishly.

Hailey handed her a low–calorie drink and started putting the groceries into the fridge.

Then, she grabbed some paper and a pen, and the two of them sat on the couch to draft Holly’s weight–loss plan.

The most effective way to lose weight was to eat less and move more, so the first step was to remove all the snacks from Holly’s apartment.

“By the way, Holly, if you really want a big transformation, I suggest not seeing your boyfriend during this period. Once you’ve lost weight, you can show up and surprise him. He’ll be amazed.” Hailey smiled mischievously.

Holly wasn’t sure about the idea and said, “I think that’ll make him angry.”
