Chapter 2518

My Substitute CEO Bride

Back to Anox, he was panting heavily on the battlefield, the brilliance of his fan fading. Thresmund looked at the struggling Anox with disdain.

"Give up, Anox. Just look around you," he taunted.

His companions were all lying motionless on the ground, unable to get up.

"There's no need to hold on any longer, Anox. It's over."

Anox gazed at the lifeless figures of his friends.

"Chevy... Teresa... Enid... Mar... Zora..." Anox's resolve began to waver.

Thresmund flew next to him.

"I haven't dealt you a fatal blow. You should consider that a mercy. If you continue to resist, I can't promise what will happen next."

Self-reproach filled Anox. "It's all my fault... If I hadn't noticed the anomaly, everyone wouldn't have gotten hurt. Their injuries are severe. What should I do? What should I do?"

Seeing that Anox had seemingly lost the will to fight, Thresmund turned to leave for another arena. Just then, a figure emerged ahead.

Thresmund looked at the newcomer with contempt.

"Here to surrender?"

In response, the figure merely raised a hand, causing everyone around to vanish in an instant.

Anox found himself behind an unfamiliar figure and looked up, puzzled.

"Who are you?"

"Clint from the Melton family of the Southern Territory."

Clint had been in the vicinity since the battle broke out and had noticed Anox and Zora rushing out of the arena. After discussing the situation with Nash, he decided that Nash and Huntley would handle the issues there while he came to this arena.

Clint was able to sense that Thresmund did not plan to deal a lethal blow to anyone and so did not rush into the situation. However, he also realized that he could not let him leave just yet.

During this time, Clint has been observing Thresmund and noticed something strange about his body. Thresmund had absorbed Harkin's power, which meant he was undoubtedly beyond the Divine Sojourn Realm. He might have even reached the Semi-Divine Realm. Yet, his body appeared to be unstable.

If one were to visualize his true energy, it would normally be a straight line for an average person, representing a steady flow of true energy. However, Thresmund's energy was a curve with significant fluctuations. This suggested that a cycle existed within him. When one ability reached its peak, it would then begin to decline until a low point.

Thus, Clint realized then that he was not entirely without a chance. He turned his attention back to Anox.

"Kid, don't worry. Your companions have already been sent to the hospital. Could you help me with something?"

"What is it?" Anox responded politely.

Clint pointed at Thresmund. "Help me hold him back."

"But I can't..."

"I know." Clint snapped his fingers, and before Thresmund could even react, both he and Anox were pulled into Clint's barrier.

Once inside, Clint explained to Anox, "We're in this barrier now, and I'll share my true energy with you. Don't worry, I have plenty. Feel free to use that powerful fan of yours."

Clint's decision to collaborate with Anox came from necessity. He knew Thresmund could only start his energy cycle after using his abilities, so they needed to engage him in a war of attrition until one of them found Thresmund's true energy at its lowest point. This would allow them to deliver the critical blow.

Anox was able to grasp the plan, and he realized that this might be their only chance. He agreed reluctantly.

Meanwhile, Thresmund was still astonished that they had been able to pull him into the barrier while he was unaware. He began to wonder about the identity of the newcomer.

"Wait..." Thresmund muttered when he felt the power within him begin to stir restlessly.
