Chapter 543
Trading My Ex for His Uncle
The taxi driver chuckled at the sound of the navigation voice coming from the back seat. The kid looked small, but he certainly seemed cautious.
Masonâs school wasnât far from the Prospectus Technology branch, and they arrived in less than half an hour. After paying the fare and stepping out, Mason looked up at the towering skyscraper, at least dozens of stories high, excitement gleaming in his eyes.
He walked into the building but was stopped at the front desk.
âExcuse me, young man, who are you looking for-â the receptionist began, but her eyes widened in shock as she realized she was looking at a miniature Was this Damonâs child? But Damon wasnât married, right? Could this boy be a love child?
At that moment, she felt like she had stumbled upon a huge secret.
Seeing the receptionist staring at him in silence, Mason frowned and said, âIâm here to see your boss. His name is Damon Sumner.â

The receptionist was momentarily speechless. This boyâs manner of speaking was so similar to Damonâs- almost identical.
After a few seconds of stunned silence, she regained her composure. âPâPlease wait a moment. Iâll check.
She picked up the phone and called the CEOâs office. âMr. Hogg, thereâs a child downstairs asking for Mr. Sumner. He looks just like himâ¦â
âIâll be right down,â Spencer replied.
After hanging up, Spencer glanced toward the conference room before heading downstairs.
As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, he spotted the small figure at the front desk and quickened his pace.
When he got a closer look at Masonâs face, he couldnât help but gasp. He was certainâthis was Damonâs child.
The receptionist began, âMr. Hogg-â
Spencer turned to her with a cold expression. âIf you donât want to lose your job, keep quiet about the fact that he was here today.â
After that, he turned to Mason and said gently, âIâm Mr. Sumnerâs secretary. Heâs busy right now and canât see you. Where do you go to school? Do you want me to take you back or contact your mom?â
Upon hearing Spencer mention contacting his mom, Masonâs expression changed, and he quickly shook his head. âNo, donât contact my mom. I came h âIn that case, Iâll take you back to school. If the teachers notice youâre missing, theyâll contact your mom too,â Spencer offered.
âBut⦠I still havenât seen who I want to meet,â Mason protested.
He needed to confirm if Damon was truly his biological father. If not, he wouldnât waste any more time.
Looking into Masonâs serious eyes, Spencer replied, âLittle fella, since your mom doesnât know youâre here, she probably wouldnât agree to this. Let me t The thought of Nyla being angry made Mason shrink back a little. If she knew he had come to find a possible father without telling her, it would break her heart.
Seeing Mason wavering, Spencer continued. âOur boss is really busy today and wonât have any time to see you, even if you wait all day. If you want to meet him, you need to make an appointment.â
âThen if I make an appointment, can I see him?â Mason asked.
Spencer shook his head and led Mason to a spot out of the cameraâs view. There was no way he could let the cameras capture Masonâs face.
âNo. Even if you make an appointment, youâll still have to wait. There are a lot of people who want to see our boss, and it might take a month before you get an appointment,â Spencer coaxed.
Mason pouted, clearly disappointed. He hadnât realized it would take that long.
