Chapter 1037
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âHey, Mister,â Corinne called out to Jeremy softly as she walked toward him.
Jeremy turned to look at her and put out the cigarette silently.
Corinne looked up at him. âWhy are you hiding and smoking here all alone? Donât you wanna know
how your grandmother is doing?â
Jeremy narrowed his eyes. There was no obvious change to his expression. âHow is she doing?â
âSheâs already woken up and eaten something. Sheâs actually doing pretty well.â
âGood,â uttered Jeremy emotionlessly.
Corinne was not used to him acting like this. âAre you angry at me for interrupting your smoking
session?â she asked with a frown.
Jeremy simply looked at her silently.
Corinne waited for him to answer her question, but it was all in vain.
âWell, Iâm sorry for bothering you,â she said testily. âYou can carry on what you were doing âcause Iâm
going to go back now.â
After that, she turned around and was about to leave when Jeremy suddenly asked in an inscrutable
tone, âWas it fun?âBooks Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
Stunned, Corinne stopped walking and turned around. âWas what fun?â
Jeremyâs face darkened. âWas it fun to scare me like that?â
Realization dawned on Corinne. âMister, I texted you while I was in the surgery room. Itâs your fault for
not reading it. Not to mention, I texted Tommy to ask him to let you know Iâm okay. Didnât he tell you?â
Jeremyâs gaze hardened even more. His jaw became so tense, it caused the veins to pop up from
underneath his skin.
âI canât believe youâre still trying to justify yourself! I bet you wonât be happy until Iâm lying six feet
under!â
Corinne was shocked. She did not mean for her words to come across so bluntly.
âNo, that wasnâtâ¦â
Jeremy pulled her into a tight embrace. âYou little rascal⦠How could you do that to me?â
Corinne felt both angry and guilty at the same time. âAnya is just going to keep causing me trouble if I
donât get rid of her once and for all! Now that everyone knows her true colors, I can finally have some
peace and quiet in my lifeâ¦â
âBut is it worth getting hit by a car for all that?â Jeremy asked sternly.
âWell, I didnât expect Rosie would use the same trick twice in the span of three daysâ¦â
Jeremy scoffed. âIs it that hard to admit youâre wrong?â he said as she hugged her tighter.
Corinne sighed. âFine, Iâm sorry. I promise I wonât make you worry next timeâ¦â
âNext time?â
âI mean, thereâs not going to be a next time anymoreâ¦â
Only then did Jeremyâs anger dissipate a little.
