Chapter 1119
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinne smiled coldly. âSo what if you heard everything? I have nothing to hide. However, thereâs one
thing you got wrong. We donât need to get a divorce because we were never legally married in the first
place!â
Francine was struck speechless.
Corinne massaged her temples tiredly. âIf thereâs nothing else, Iâm going back to sleep now.â
âThere is something else!â said Francine with a frown. âJoey just woke up and was crying for you, so I
brought him here.â
Corinne glanced coldly at the pitiful Joey. âHeâs your brotherâs adopted son, so he has nothing to do
with me. You should call your brother and ask him to take the kid off your hand.â
After that, she closed the door. Halfway through, however, she stopped when she felt something had
wrapped itself around her legs. She looked down and saw Joey looking up at her with big sad puppy
eyes.Books Chapters Are Daily Updated Join & Stay Updated For All Books Updatesâ¦
âAuntie Sissy⦠Joey wants to stay with youâ¦â he said with a pout.
Even though Corinne decided to cut ties with Jeremy, which meant she did not want to involve any of
his business, she could not help but feel moved when she saw Joey like that.
After some hesitation, she decided to take in Joey for the time being. She led him into her room by his
hand.
Before Corinne closed the door, Francine decided to try one last time to make her come around.
âUmm, I might not know why you guys are fighting, but seeing how angry you are, it doesnât take a
genius to figure out it must be Jeremyâs fault. But please give him another chance. Iâm sure heâll be
willing to change for you.â
Corinne said nothing. She had given Jeremy many chances to come clean but to no avail. In the just
like any woman. No matter how confident she was, she could not escape the fate of getting hurt in love.
It was the same for her mother, as well as Mother Cathrina and countless other women who thought
they could live happily ever after once they married the man of their dreams.
Corinne shut the door firmly after her as though shutting her heart from ever falling in love again.
Francine simply sighed and went back to her room.
Corinne carried Joey to her bed and sang him a lullaby to get him to sleep. However, he just looked at
her with his bright, innocent eyes and said, âAuntie Sissy, stay⦠Stay with Dada.â
Corinne was a little taken aback. âYou shouldnât be thinking about all this. Go to sleep, little guy.â
Joey pouted. âAuntie Sissy donât want Joey anymore?â
Corinne did not know what to say to him. As much as she pitied him, there was no denying she was not
related to him in any way. It was not up to her to say whether she wanted him or not.
Afraid she would abandon him, Joey grabbed Corinneâs hand tightly.
âIf Auntie Sissy go, Joey go alsoâ¦â
