Chapter 1204
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Jason reached out and flicked Corinneâs forehead. âWhat do you think? Itâs my selfish desire for you, of
course. If I can get you and your child out of the country, I still stand a chance of being with you! That
chance is gone if the Holdens find you! Are you that dull, or are you just pretending to be dull?â
Corinne touched her slightly sore forehead. âHehe! Then my advice to you is to just give up! I know
youâve helped me a lot in the past six months, but I can give you anything except for my feelings.â
Jason sighed in self-pity. âWhy are you so nervous, silly? Iâm not going to force you!â
He was using âsillyâ as if it was a form of endearment.
Corinne felt a little awkward and glared at him. âHave you had enough rest? You should make your way
back soon if thatâs the case. The street lights arenât bright here in the suburbs. Itâs unsafe for you to
drive alone! You should head back as soon as you can.â
Jasonâs charming face leaned close to her, and he snorted flirtingly. âHmph. Why arenât you offering to
let me stay for the night if you know itâs not safe here?â
Corinne was not prepared to make that kind of offer. âBecause itâs inappropriate. Donât you have to go
to the company and deal with work tomorrow morning? Itâs best if you head home.â
He had postponed a company meeting until the next day when he came to fetch her at the last minute.
Many matters required his attention when he went back. However, he was still rather reluctant to leave,
so he took another step forward and bowed respectfully to her. âIâll come and see you again in a few
days. I hope youâll accept me and make things official with me. I want to have the legitimate right to
take care of you and your child. I hope youâll think it over.â
He then gave her a sudden peck on her forehead.
Corinne was stunned when he did that. By the time she came back to her senses, all she saw was
Jasonâs rear figure walking out of the gate. She then heard him rev up his engine before driving off.
The warmth from Jasonâs farewell kiss lingered on her forehead, and she remained in a daze even
after he left.
Jason did a lot for her during the past six months. She did not know how to feel toward his

As she pondered over his request to âmake things officialâ, a telephone ringtone interrupted her
thoughts.
It was an unfamiliar ringtone.
When she snapped back to her senses and turned around, she saw Jasonâs phone on the sofa. At the
same time, she heard the sound of a car engine outside, followed by a knock on the door.
Jason forgot his phone!
Corinne grabbed the phone and walked toward the door. When she saw that one of the servants was
about to open the door, Corinne said, âIâll do it. He just forgot his cell phone. Iâll open the door and hand
it to him.â
The servant nodded and left.
Rather than answer the ringing phone, she decided to just return the phone to him so he could answer
it.
As soon as the door opened, however, she was surprised to see Jeremyâs face. Corinneâs pupils
dilated, and she froze right away.
âHow did he find me? Iâm not wearing that fake face. Itâs over!â
Jeremyâs handsome face was expressionless, and he glanced down at her with a dull look.
Corinne expected Jeremy to grab her angrily and ask her why she ran away, but he did not do that at
all. He kept quiet and looked coldly at her before glancing disdainfully at the furnishings in the hallway
behind her.
The atmosphere was so stifling that Corinne could not help herself from speaking first. âWhat are you
doing here, Mister Jeremy?â
Jeremy glanced at her again. His expression turned even colder, and he pursed his lips into a
lukewarm smile. He then gracefully took two steps back and turned around to return to his car. He
started the engine, reversed the car, and drove off.
Corinne pinched herself unconsciously as she stood at the door in a daze and watched the car speed
off.
