Chapter 1209
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinne nodded. âYeah, Iâm going back to the city to give birth. I left your phone in the drawer. Iâve
already switched it off, so you can see if you have any missed calls. Thank you for everything.â
After that, she started making her way out with Xante and Aaron.
Jason could not accept her leaving just like that. He looked so confused and lost.
âDid something happen last night? Why would you suddenly want to leave?â he asked after he blocked
her path.
âJeremy knows about this place. He came last night, so youâre going to be in a lot of trouble if I
continue to stay there. Itâs best if I just go back home,â said Corinne with resignation.
âJeremy came last night?â thought Jason with shock. He looked deeply into her eyes. âCorinne, do you
really think Iâd care about getting into trouble? I wouldnât have helped you in the first place if Iâm worried
about crossing Jeremy.â
âI know you donât care, but thereâs no point for me to hide out here since he already found out where I
am. Plus, itâll be more convenient for me to go to the hospital from my own place. As for whatâs going to
happen next, well, Iâll leave that for future Corinne to worry about.â
Jason was silent for a few seconds. He then nodded and said, âOkay. I understand. Please let me know
when you get home safely.â
âSure thing.â
Jason gave her a send-off. After that, he narrowed his eyes and thought, âSeems like Jeremy found out
sooner than I expected.â

Aaron turned his head back and asked, âBoss, do you want to have lunch first or go back home?â
âLunch can wait. Drive me to the office first. I want to read the financial reports from the last six
months.â
Corinne was preparing for the worst. There was a high possibility Jeremy would come down hard on
Newmoon Group in the near future, so she would need to understand the position the company was in
to come up with the best countermeasures.
For the past six months, she did not really concern herself with the companyâs affairs. After all, she was
so busy hiding from Jeremy and taking care of her unborn baby, so there were a lot of things she did
not understand anymore.
Annie was sitting in the Newmoon Groupâs lobby, scrolling through her phone when she suddenly
sensed a group of people walking past her. Her expression immediately changed when she saw who
they were.
Her eyes widened in shock as she gasped, âCorinne!â
Corinne stopped walking.
Annie ran over to her and said happily, âIt is you, Corinne! Do you know how hard Uncle Jeremy has
been looking for you?! Where have you been for the past six months? We were all worried sick about
you!â
Corinne did not answer her questions. She simply looked at Annie and then at the place she was sitting
just moments before. âWhat are you doing down here when you should be working?â she asked with a
raised eyebrow.
Annie was a little taken aback. She tried to quickly explain, âHavenât you heard? I donât work for
Newmoon Group anymore. Iâm waiting for someone! Weâre going to have lunch together.â
Corinne had not heard. âYouâre waiting for someone? Who?â
She instinctively glanced at Aaron when she asked the question.
Aaronâs expression remained impassive. He looked quietly at Annie, and when he noticed Corinne
glancing at her, he shrugged innocently and said, âDonât look at me, Boss. Iâm not the person sheâs
waiting for.â
Annie glanced at Aaron impassively. âMister Aaron is right. I didnât come for him. Iâm actually waiting for
my boyfriend to come down. Corinne, itâs been such a long time since I last saw you, so why donât you
join us for lunch? Iâll ask Uncle Jeremy to come too. Boy, is he going to be surprised when he sees
you!â
âAnnie is in a relationship?â Corinne realized just how many things she missed.
She shook her head lightly. âItâs okay. You guys go ahead. I donât want to be a third wheel. By the way,
you donât have to wait here. You can come up with me to wait for your boyfriend upstairs.â
