Chapter 1210
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
After thinking it over, Annie nodded and said, âOkay, sure. Thanks, Corinne!â
She still had the employee ID card with her, so she could go in and out of the company as she pleased.
This was possible because she did not formally tender her resignation since she just decided not to
come to work for a day.
The reason she did not go upstairs to wait for Marcus was because she did not want to risk running into
Aaron. However, she did not care about all that anymore since Corinne was back.
Thus, so followed Corinne into the elevator. She was so focused on Corinne that she did not realize
Aaron was standing beside her too. It was only when she smelled his signature perfume did she
noticed his presence. However, it would seem like she was still hung up on him if she tried to change
her place then.
âOh well, this elevator ride isnât going to take long anyway,â she told herself.
âCorinne, where have you been for the past six months?â she asked curiously.
Corinne ignored her question again. âAnnie, we can still be friends, but you should know Iâm not your
aunt anymore.â
Annie was stunned. âWhy not? Does that mean youâre really breaking up with Uncle Jeremy?âBooks

âWhat I had with your Uncle Jeremy was just a working relationship, and now that our agreement has
ended, thereâs no need for us to continue as before. Itâs not right for you to see me as your aunt; doing
so will only cause me unnecessary trouble.â
Annie did not understand the sudden change in Corinneâs attitude. âBut youâre carrying Uncle Jeremyâs
ââ
Ding!
The elevator door slid open. Corinne strode out of the elevator without waiting for Annie to finish her
sentence.
Xante quickly followed behind her.
Annie frowned in consternation. âWhat the heck is the matter with her? Why is she acting all weird after
she came back?â
âYou should just let it go instead of worrying your pretty little head over it. You should also not meddle in
your uncleâs love life,â said Aaron from behind Annie. He sounded like he was very close to her.
Annieâs heart started beating faster. She snapped back to the present and walked out of the elevator
without even sparing him a glance.
Aaron shoved his hands into his pockets. He looked like he did not have a care in the world, not even
after getting a cold shoulder from a girl. He shrugged nonchalantly, chuckled, and walked out of the
elevator too.
However, the moment he walked out of the elevator, he saw Annie talking happily with Marcus. He
could not take his eyes off her radiant laughing face.
Marcus noticed Aaron was staring at them, so he stood up anxiously and asked, âMister Aaron, do you
have any orders for me?â
Aaron strode over and smiled. âIâll let your manager know if I have any tasks for you.â
Marcus fell silent. He should not have gone over his immediate supervisorâs head.
Annie rolled her eyes at Aaron. She did not like his tone when speaking to Marcus.
