Chapter 1211
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âHmph! Does he think he can treat his employee like this just because heâs the vice president of the
company? Itâs not like heâs the only vice president in the world. I should ask Marcus to quit and go work
for Uncle Jeremy!â thought Annie.
Aaron must have guessed what she was thinking of because his smile deepened. âAnnie, please step
into my office for a moment.â
Annie was a little taken aback. âThis is weird. Did I hear wrong? Why would he ask me to go into his
office?â
Annie never once turned behind to look at him as she did not want to see him. Without even needing to
think twice, she rejected his invitation. âMister Aaron, I donât work for you anymore. I donât think itâs
appropriate for me to go into your office.â
âHave you forgotten you havenât gone through the formal resignation procedures? So technically,
youâre still an employee here. Now would you step into my office?â he asked sternly.
âNo! I wonât. I told you Iâve quit!â
Aaron walked around her so that they would face each other. He leaned down a little and looked into
her eyes. âBe a good girl and come into my office. I want to talk to you about your resignation and have
you sign some papers. That way, itâll be easier to look for a new job.â
âGood girlâ. That sounded too flirtatious. That nickname made it sound like they were dating!
As her boyfriend, Marcus was displeased by Aaronâs tone, even if he was his boss.
Annie was quite angry as well, but she feared that if she turned Aaron down again, he would say
something even worse.
âMarcus, wait for me while I hand in my resignation. Weâll go through lunch after that,â said Annie.
Marcus looked worriedly at Annie. He wanted to go with her too but knew there was nothing he could
do even if he was there. Thus, he simply nodded.
After that, Annie followed Aaron into his office.
âMister Aaron, can you please make this quick? My boyfriend is waiting for me outside,â said

Aaron closed the door, took his suit jacket, and threw it on the sofa before loosening his tie as he
walked to his desk. âWhat? Now that you have a boyfriend, you canât even spare me some time?â
Annie smirked disdainfully. âIâm not like you. You can flirt with countless girls at any time, but I know
how to keep my boundaries with the opposite *** out of respect for my boyfriend.â
Aaron snorted at this. He rested his chin on his hand and said, âSo do you plan to marry an ordinary
office worker?â
Annie frowned and said seriously, âOf course I do! Marriage is an end-goal for every relationship I have.
Iâm not in the market for playing games. And whatâs wrong with marrying an ordinary office worker? You
shouldnât look down on people like that!â
Aaron narrowed his eyes. âThen does that mean you were thinking of marrying me when you were
courting me?â
Annie was a little taken aback by the question. She started blushing madly and said, âI donât want to
admit it, but yes. I wanted to marry you then, but now? I see that youâre not even interested in dating a
girl who takes relationships seriously like me! So donât worry, I wonât ever bother you anymore.â
Annie kept her eyes off him the whole time she was speaking. It was obvious she was deliberately
avoiding looking at him, which meant still cared very much about him.
Aaron narrowed his eyes. âThen what if I say I want to have a serious relationship with you now?â
Annieâs heart skipped a beat. âWhat⦠What did he just say?â
