Chapter 1232
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âAlright. Iâll apologize to Miss Sophia,â said Corinne with a smile.
Pamela smiled, relieved by Corinneâs answer. âThatâs right, Corinne. Youâre every bit of the sensible girl
I know you to be.â
Corinne walked up to Sophia, who tried to hide the glee in her eyes.
Sophia waved her hand and lied, âReally, thereâs no need, Corinne. I know you didnât meanâahh!â
Corinne grabbed Sophiaâs hair, dragged her to the counter, and slammed her head down on it before
she could finish her sentence.
Everything happened so fast that Sophia did not even have a chance to react. The next thing she
knew, she was screaming out in pain.
No one expected that to happen too, so they were understandably shocked.
Corinne had finished dealing with Sophia by the time Jeremy went to stop her. He glared at Corinne
when he saw the new injury on Sophiaâs forehead.
âWhat the hell did you do that for?â he hissed.
Corinne pushed Sophia onto Jeremyâs chest before pulling out a tissue from the countertop to wipe her
hand.
âMister Jeremy, thereâs nothing more I hate in this world than to be accused of things I didnât do. Iâll
never apologize for baseless accusations. Since you insist I apologize to Sophia, however, I might as
well do the things you accused me of before apologizing.â
Jeremy frowned and steadied Sophia before pulling his hand away. He then looked at Corinne with
darkened eyes.
Corinne no longer cared what Jeremy thought of her. âNow that I actually hurt Sophia, I donât mind
apologizing to her anymore,â she added.
She turned to Sophia and said solemnly, âMiss Sophia, Iâm really sorry for hurting you. Do you need to
go to the hospital? Iâll compensate for any medical fees you mightâve incurred.âBooks Chapters Are

Sophia suppressed her anger and looked at Corinne in disbelief. âWhy⦠Why are you treating me like
this when weâve just met?â
Corinne raised an eyebrow. âYou donât have a right to question me when youâve asked for it yourself.â
âBut I didnât ask for itâ¦â said Sophia pitifully.
Corinne crumpled up the tissue and threw it into the trash can. She then turned to Jeremy and asked,
âNow that Iâve apologized, can I go?â
Jeremy simply looked at her coldly.
Noting his silence, Corinne turned to leave.
Pamela quickly snapped out of her shock. She then put herself in front of Corinne and grabbed her
hand. âCorinne, where are you going? Come home with me!â
Corinne pulled her hand back and put some distance between herself and the old woman. âMiss
Pamela, Iâm sorry you went to all this effort to come here, but Iâm not going home with you. Iâm going to
go back to my own home. Please ask Jeremy and Francine to send you home.â
Pamela did not like Corinne addressing her as âMiss Pamelaâ, but she decided not to correct her on that
since there were more important matters.
âCorinne, the baby is going to be due soon, so itâs not safe for you to be wandering outside. Be a good
girl and come home with me.â
Corinne took another step back to prevent Pamela from grabbing her hand again.
âIâm not wandering outside. I have friends and a house, and I know how to take care of myself. You can
rest assured Iâll be living a very good life,â said Corinne impassively. âMiss Pamela, I hope you stop
seeing me as your family. Your real granddaughter-in-law is over there. You should ask her to give birth
if you want to have a great-grandson. As for the baby Iâm carrying right now, he doesnât have anything
to do with the Holdens. You donât have to worry about him anymore.â
