Chapter 1231
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinne never expected that after all this time, Jeremy could still hurt her.
âNo! Iâm not going to apologize to her!â
Apologizing was akin to admitting to wrongdoing.
The waiters did not dare to intervene, so they went to get the manager. After all, it was a bad look for
the restaurant if a fight broke out at the entrance.
The managerâs hurried arrival attracted the attention of other diners. They, too, came along with him to
see what was going on.
Pamela asked Francine to help her over to the entrance when she heard someone say Jeremy and a
woman were fighting with another woman. She broke through the crowd and saw Jeremy grabbing
Corinne by the collar and forcing her to apologize to Sophia, whose head was bleeding.Books

However, no matter how much he threatened her, Corinne stubbornly refused to apologize. Sophia, on
the other hand, kept telling Jeremy she was fine and to let it go.
The livid Pamela rushed over and pushed Jeremy away. âWhat are you doing? Have you forgotten that
Corinne is pregnant?! Have you lost your mind? How can you treat her like this?â
âYou see how Sophia is bleeding from her head? Yeah, well, Corinne did that. She needs to apologize
to her,â said Jeremy evenly.
With her arms protectively wrapped around Corinne, Pamela turned to look at Sophia. âSophia, whatâs
going on? Did Corinne really hurt you?â she asked when she saw the blood on Sophiaâs forehead.
âY⦠Yesâ¦â replied Sophia hesitantly. âBut Iâm sure she didnât mean to! She wanted to leave, but I tried
to stop her from leaving because I knew you wanted to talk to her. Sheâ¦mustâve found me annoying,
so she pushed me away gentlyâ¦and I mean very gently. But it caught me off-guard, so I fell and hit my
head. Jeremy started to panic when he saw the blood coming out and wouldnât stop forcing out an
apology from Corinne. I kept telling him I was fine, but he wouldnât listen to meâ¦â
Pamela frowned after Sophiaâs retelling of what transpired. She looked at the glowering Jeremy before
turning back to look at Corinne, whose eyes were red and teary.
âCorinne, is what Sophia said true?â
Corinne looked at Pamela with wide eyes. She was not in a good mood, so she simply said, âI guess
so.â
âSince you did push her, Jeremyâs right to ask you to apologize to Sophia,â said Pamela begrudgingly.
âNow, wonât you be a good girl and say sorry?â
This stunned Corinne, but it was not long until a chuckle escaped her. âI shouldnât be surprised. The
Holdens are all the same.â She thought Pamela would take her side, but she was obviously wrong
about that. âOf course sheâd take her real granddaughter-in-lawâs side. Iâm nothing but a birthing
machine to them. They want me to apologize, huh? Fine, Iâll apologize!â
