Chapter 1322
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
âWhat would you like to print on the fliers? Itâll take around thirty minutes for the fliers to be ready after
the design is confirmed,â replied the store worker.
âI donât need them to be fancy. I just want to get them as fast as possible,â said Sophia.
âOkay, then. Iâll give you the simplest design and have them out for you in fifteen minutes.â
â¦
That evening, after dinner, Corinne decided to take a stroll in the Riverasâ garden. The night air was
refreshing, and the bright moon hung in the sky.
As she walked, she heard two servants complaining up ahead.
âD*mn it! Some idiot shop is distributing their fliers around here,â said one of them.
âYeah! They must have blown in after getting thrown away⦠God, theyâre everywhere!â grumbled the
other.
Suddenly, they heard the sound of footsteps approaching, so they turned around to see who it was.
They quickly bowed respectfully when they saw it was Corinne.
âHello, Miss Corinne. Would you be so kind as to take a stroll somewhere else? Weâre going to sweep
these fliers away, and weâre worried that the dust might bother you.â
Corinne smiled. âOkay, sure. Thanks for letting me know.â
She did not really pay attention to the fliers as she walked to the other side.
The servants began to gossip among themselves again when they saw her walking away.
âOh my god! Why would the fliers be talking about Mister Jeremyâs sudden death?â
âDidnât you read? It says that the Holdens are asking for any clues that may lead to them solving the
case of Mister Jeremyâs bizarre death.â
âI wonder whoâd be daring enough to kill Mister Jeremy.â
âWho cares? Have you forgotten our employers donât get along with the Holdens at all? This has
nothing to do with us.â
They continued to talk while sweeping, but they suddenly saw a pair of shoes in front of them. When
they looked up, they were surprised to see Corinne had come back.
âWho did you say was killed just now?â she asked sternly.
The servants were frightened by how stern Corinne looked. They did not know Corinne used to be in a
relationship with Jeremy since they only worked in the garden instead of in the mansion.
âUmm⦠It was Mister Jeremy,â answered one of the servants quickly. âHe was killed in an explosion
last night. Apparently, the explosion was so big that his body was blown to pieces. The Holdens are
asking for eyewitnesses or clues to what happened. We got all the information from these fliers here.â
Corinne looked down at the small pile of dusty fliers on the ground. She wanted to pick one up, but she
could not bend down due to her protruding belly.
Seeing this, one of the servants quickly picked up a flier and handed it to her.
Corinne grabbed the flier and saw the front was an advertisement for a barbecue restaurant while the
back was about Jeremyâs death. The Holdens were imploring for anyone with clues as to what
happened to Jeremy to come forward. Those who did would be generously rewarded for their help.
âJeremy was killed in an explosion? No⦠Thatâs not possible! How can this be? This is Jeremy weâre
talking about!â thought Corinne in a panic.
She stared blankly at the flier. Suddenly, she felt tightness in her chest, causing her to hyperventilate.
