Chapter 1494
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 1494
Christine moved to one side and tried to distance herself from Bryan. She gazed at her mother with a
solemn expression and stated, âNo. Heâs not the brother I grew up with. He hasnât been my brother
since the day we returned from the picnic! My real brother is missing, and this one is an impostor.â
Corinne could not understand where all of that was coming from. She scrutinized âBryanâ from head to
two, finding no difference at all. It was inconceivable for there to be two children who looked exactly
alike in this world, not when Corinne had only given birth to a pair of twins. The possibility of a child
who looked identical to Bryan was zero.
âDonât be ridiculous, Christine,â Corinne replied sternly.
Christine remained firm and insisted, âBut Iâm telling the truth, Mommy! Heâs not my brother!â
âBryanâ chose not to refute Christineâs claims. He stood in silence and looked down.
Corinne felt that her two children were acting weirder than before and focused her attention back on
Christine. âHow can I prove what youâre saying is true?â
Christine was stumped by her motherâs question. She had no way to prove her claims since the boy
standing next to her was the spitting image of her brother Bryan. Since she was a twin to the real
Bryan, it was by pure gut feeling that she knew the âBryanâ beside her was a fake.
Her daughterâs silence made it difficult for Corinne to discern the basis for her daughterâs claims. In the
end, she attributed all those remarks to the children being upset.
âAlright! I donât care what disagreement you had in the first place, but fighting with each other is not the
way to go. Apologize to one another, or Iâll be very disappointed in you!â Corinne asserted sternly.
Bryanâ hesitated momentarily, but he ultimately did as Corinne requested and apologized to his sister.
âIâm sorry, I didnât mean to step on your doll. Iâm the older brother, so I shouldnât have fought back.â
Christine pouted reluctantly and uttered her apology in frustration. âIâm sorry, too. I shouldnât have
pushed you.â
Corinneâs expression softened as she observed the two children apologizing to each other. âOkay.
Come here, you two!â
The two kids glanced at each other and walked over to Corinne at her beckoning.
Corinne embraced the two children. She said to them in a gentle and earnest voice, âWhatever
happens, you must always remember that the three of you are siblings. Siblings are the closest people
you have aside from your parents. Never do anything to hurt your sibling, even if youâre angry at them.
Do you understand?â
Bryanâ and Christine nodded in Corinneâs embrace.
Corinne continued earnestly. âItâs important to talk to each other if you are in any conflict with each
other. You can always come to Mommy if you canât resolve your differences. Iâll be very, very upset if
you hurt each other like this again!â
Bryanâ and Christine both answered, âOkay.â
After having a heart-to-heart and resolving their minor conflict, the children no longer had any conflict
with each other.
It was through sheer accident that âBryanâ had inadvertently stepped on Christineâs doll, which
provoked her anger. They were both children, and it was not necessary for the elder sibling to always
give in to the younger one. They were peers of equal standing, and they were both still naive.
Corinne had no interest in debating who was right or wrong. She also did not want to emphasize too
much that her children must know when to give in. Kids could be stubborn sometimes, but it was wrong
for them to start a fight.
After talking to the two kids for a while and getting them to reconcile with a handshake, Corinne
released them from her hug and carried Joey.
