Chapter 1496
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 1496
Benjamin pondered for a while and said, âOkay. Iâll bring you to see my Daddy when Iâm ready to leave.
But you have to promise me you wonât tell your Mommy that Iâm not Bryan.â
âOkay! Itâs a deal!â Christine agreed happily. After all, she had no way to prove that the boy was not
Bryan. However, since he looked exactly like Bryan, his father might just beâ¦
Corinne and Joey came up with a bunch of snacks. Lucas bought them for the kids some time ago, but
Corinne stored them away in the cabinet to stop them from eating them sneakily. Too many sweets
would result in cavities, so she only allowed them to eat the candy as a reward.
Given the unique circumstances surrounding the unpleasant conflicts between the kids that day,
Corinne decided to let them have a little extra. She hoped that it would help them forget all the bad stuff
that happened that day.
The next day, Corinne got up early to send her children to kindergarten before heading straight to the
company. When she was about to open her office door, her secretary stood up and gave her a heads-
up, âMaâam, a gentleman came in this morning and asked to see you. I told him to wait in the lounge.â
âIs it Jason?â Corinne raised her eyebrows.
The secretary shook her head. âNo. Iâve never met this gentleman before, and I donât know who he is.â
Corinne was puzzled. âWho else would come to the company so early that morning just to see her?â
She nodded and said, âOkay. Iâll head over in a bit. Could you make a cup of coffee for me before I
head there?â
âSure thing, maâam,â the secretary replied.
After getting some routine office tasks out of the way, Corinne went to the lounge to find out who was
looking for her. She entered and saw no one was there. There were only two cups of coffee on the
table. One of the cups was freshly made and still steaming hot, while the other was half empty.
She looked around and saw no sign of the visitor, so she decided to head back to her office.
As soon as she turned around, Sunny attempted to surprise her by jumping out from behind the door.
âBoo!â
Corinne was not startled in the slightest. Rather, she found Sunnyâs antics childishly inane. He seemed
disappointed that his surprise did not work on her and reached out to give her a big bear hug. âItâs been
so long since I last saw you. Youâre still as strong as ever!â
Corinne patted his back and replied, âIt has been a while. Youâre as childish as ever, I see!â
Sunny released her and retorted, âHmph! I donât act like this in front of outsiders, okay? Isnât it all right
for me to act this way in front of my sister?â
Corinne responded teasingly, âI donât remember acknowledging you as my younger brother.â
Sunny placed his hand on her shoulder and led her to the sofa. âYouâre my sister, and thatâs final! God
can come down here for all I care, but even he canât change the fact that youâre my flesh and blood!â
