Chapter 1503
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 1503
Sunny then said anxiously, âWait, Corinne! Thatâs not why Iâm calling!
Something urgent popped up!â
Corinne was typing on the keyboard as she asked, âWhat is it? Iâm busy right now.â
Sunny continued, âItâs about Lucas. I have reason to think that he got himself into a mess.â
Earlier that day, Corinne felt that Sunnyâs character had matured. Alas, his phone call made her
assume he reverted to his impulsive ways. âYou should discuss this with the elders in your family, not
me! Iâm busy with work, so if thereâs nothing else, Iâll hang up now.â
Sunny pressed on, âPlease donât hang up! I canât let our elders know about this, Corinne! With your
help, we can figure out a plan to set Lucas back on the right path.â
Corinne shot back irritatedly. âWhat happened to Lucas? Why are you so worried?â âI happened to pass
by the company at noon today,â Sunny began, âand I saw Lucas driving out alone. Curiosity got the
better of me, so I followed him and saw him check into a hotel. He chose a presidential suite-and
during lunch, of all times! Isnât that weird?â
Corinne felt that Sunny tailed Lucas because he had nothing better to do.â Thereâs nothing suspicious
about checking into a hotel at lunchtime. Your brother is an adult. He has his reasons. Itâs rude to pry
into other peopleâs privacy, which includes your brother.â
Sunny became increasingly anxious. âHear me out! After he checked in, he knocked on the door of the
presidential suite opposite him and went inside. Itâs been a while, and he still hasnât come out yet!â
Corinne massaged her temples and asked, âSo youâve been waiting outside the door and spying on
your brother to see who heâs meeting in the presidential suite?â
Sunny raised his voice in frustration. âOh, come on! Havenât I made it clear enough? Why donât you
understand the gravity of this situation? Itâs not normal at all! If he wanted to meet someone, he
couldâve just knocked on the door and entered. Why would he bother checking into the opposite suite?
Something is obviously not right!â
Corinne sighed. âJust because your brother is acting differently doesnât mean you can stalk him! You
have no right to invade his privacy. Go and do something productive, or Iâll give him a call right now and
tell him that youâre spying on him! Letâs see how he deals with you when he finds out!â
Sunny panicked, âNo, no, no! Please donât call him! Iâm only calling you because I trust you! Please
donât expose me! Iâm worried that Lucas might be having an affair with a married woman. I want you to
come with me to check whatâs going on. Iâm too afraid to do it alone. We need to stop him from going
any further if heâs having an affair! If that doesnât turn out to be the case, then you can help mediate the
situation so he wonât be too angry with me and beat me to a pulp.â
Corinne retorted, âWhy should I be bothered about your brotherâs affairs? Stop trying to make a fuss
out of nothing! Your brother isnât the type to get involved in that sort of stuff! Didnât you want to come
with me and pick the kids up after Iâm done with work? You can still make it in time for me to bring you
along if you make a move from that hotel. Iâm not going to wait for you if youâre late.â
Sunny conceded. âFine. Iâll just treat it as though Iâm overreacting. Iâll head over to meet you soon.â
As he made his way to the door with frustration and took the access card with him, he was still unable
to shake off the feeling that something was amiss. Even though Lucas might not be involved in an
affair, the secretive rendezvous suggested some sort of hidden agenda.
Sunny was contemplating that as he waited for the elevator. The elevators reached his floor, and he
entered the first elevator that opened for him. As soon as he got in, the other elevatorâs doors opened
and a woman stepped out. Just as his elevator doors were about to close shut, he saw the figure of a
familiar woman walking past him.
He recognized the person as Sophia.
Sunny could not believe his eyes, and he immediately rushed out to confirm what he had seen.
