Chapter 1529
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Chapter 1529
âYou should worry about yourself instead of others. How have you been lately?â David asked Annie
when he saw Annieâs confused expression.
Annie snapped out of her thoughts. Shrugging, she said, âSame old, same old. Happy at times, sad at
times⦠You know.â
âHow about your sleep? Has it improved?â
Annie sighed. âNot really. Itâll take me at least a few hours to fall asleep. I keep having nightmares as
well, so I always wake up tired.â
David put down his cup of coffee. âWe might really need to put you on pills if this continues,â he said
seriously.
Corinne walked around the neighborhood with âBryanâ in her arms to look for a taxi, but not one was in
sight.
The neighborhood they were in was a high-end area reserved only for the wealthy. This meant that not
many people there would require a taxi, nor would taxi drivers go there to solicit for business.
After a while, her arms started to feel sore from carrying âBryanâ.
She thought she would find a place to talk with the boy since she could not find a taxi for the time
being.
She spotted a walled flower bed in front of them, so she walked over, satâ Bryanâ down on top of the
wall, and sat down herself.
âBryanâ blinked at her innocently. âMommy, arenât we going home?â
Corinne narrowed her eyes. She held his face with both hands to look at him closely. Alas, she could
not find anything different about him at all.
âBryanâ frowned anxiously. âMommy⦠What are you doing? Why are you looking at me like that?â
Corinneâs eyes darkened slightly. âYouâre not really Bryan, are you?â
Guilt immediately filled the boyâs eyes. âIâ¦â
Corinne got all the answers she needed from his eyes. âI got the wrong kid on the day we had a picnic,
right?â
Benjamin nodded honestly.
Corinne looked deeply at the kid she had lost three years ago, who somehow found his way back to
her without any of them knowing.
âWhy didnât you tell me I got the wrong kid?â she asked in a trembling voice.
Benjamin dropped his head in shame. âI wanted to stay with you for a few days before going back to
my own home.â
Corinneâs heart went out to the boy. âWhy do you want to stay with me that much? Youâve never met me
before.â
Benjamin tugged at the bottom of his T-shirt anxiously. âI donât know why either. I justâ¦think you smell
very nice, and I like staying by your side.â
Corinneâs eyes turned red.
âAunt Corinne, are you going to take me back to my Daddy now so you can get your real son back?â
asked Benjamin sadly.
Corinneâs heart ached even more when she heard him calling her âAunt Corinneâ.
âSo he has no idea that Iâm his real mother,â she thought.
âAre you not happy living with your Daddy? Is that why you want to stay with me?â she asked.
Benjamin shook his head. âNo, itâs not that. My Daddy loves me very much and spends time with me
everyday, but I donât like the woman weâre living with. She keeps Daddy and I locked up in the house.â
Corinne frowned. She naturally knew who the woman was.
âIs the woman not good to you two?â she asked.
Benjamin shook his head again. However, he did not know how to explain what he thought of Sophia to
Corinne.
âShe said sheâs my Mommy, and she takes very good care of me and Daddy. But she controls our
freedom, especially Daddyâs! She wouldnât let us go out or talk to anyone else.â
