Chapter 1539
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Xanteâs gaze hardened. âAnd Iâm sure youâre not the type whoâd overstay his welcome, right? Itâs time
for you to leave now that you know Iâve made plans with someone else.â
Sunny raised an eyebrow and put his feet up on her table. âAnd what if I donât want to leave?â
Xante frowned. âIt hasnât even been two minutes since I praised him for being more mature, and now
look what heâs doing,â she thought.
âYou can stay here if you want, but Iâm going,â said Xante. She stood up, picked up her suit jacket, and
strode out of her office.
She did not have the energy to continue arguing with Sunny as she was starving. âHe should be gone
by the time I come back from lunch,â she thought.
To her surprise, Sunny stood up and ran up to block her path.
âWhat are you doing? I need to go now. Itâll be rude to make my friend wait!
Plus, I donât have a habit of arriving late,â said Xante impatiently.
Sunny stepped closer to her inch by inch, forcing her to retreat step by step.
Xante could feel the danger emanating from his body.
âMister Sunny, you said youâre now a mature man, correct? A mature man would never behave like the
way youâre behaving right now, so step out of my way!â
said Xante.
Sunny forced her until her back was against the wall. He then trapped her between his two arms before
saying, âDo you really think thereâs such a thing as a mature man in this world? Let me tell you
something, all men will act childishly in front of the woman they like.â
Xante was taken aback. âSo youâre saying you like me?â
Sunny lifted her chin. âOf course! otherwise, why would I want to reminisce about old times with you?â
he asked teasingly.
He did not sound like the old version of him from three years ago, where every word that came out of
his lips was sincere and truthful.
Xante snapped out of her trance and smiled nonchalantly. âWhat an honor it is for me to have you
thinking of me at all times.â
Sunny squeezed her chin. âThatâs right. You should feel honored. Itâs rare for me to like a woman this
much. So donât you think itâll be a pity if you walk away now?â
Xante tried to turn her face away, but he would not let her.
âMister Sunny, as tempting as your offer sounds, Iâm afraid my priority still goes to the person who Iâve
made plans with first.â âEven so, you can ditch your plan with whoever it is! Isnât that what you did to me
back then? So itâs not like youâre doing anything out of your character!
Xante could not offer up a retort since that was exactly what she did to him last time. She would
sometimes forget she had a date with him, and it ended up with him waiting for her for hours.
âHe sure knows how to hold a grudgeâ¦â thought Xante.
âUnfortunately, the person Iâm meeting later is very important, so I canât just ditch them. Please, Mister
Sunny, wonât you step aside? I promise Iâll ask you out another day,â said Xante.
She did want to resort to begging him, but he was stronger than he was three years ago, so she could
not break free from him at all.
Sunnyâs face darkened. âNo! I wonât take no for an answer! It must be today. I donât care how important
that person is to you! Just ditch them!â
