Chapter 1576
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Annie stared at Aaron quietly. âBut youâre not even willing to make a promise. So why should I believe
you when you say youâre serious about me now?â
Aaron looked her straight in the eye. âThis isnât the first day you meet me, so you should know that Iâll
say anything to a woman if it means itâll get them into bed with me. I can easily make vows like theyâre
nothing, and because of this, Iâm not willing to fool you with cheap promises now. So Iâm going to use
my actions to show that I am serious about you.â
Annie blinked blankly. She was almost convinced by him. âAre youâ¦really going to marry me?â âAs
long as you dare, of course I am willing. Do you dare?â Aaron
asked with a smile.
Annie secretly clenched her fists. âOf⦠Of course I dare!â
Aaron got up from the armchair and moved to sit next to her. âThen when are we going to get married?â
His sudden approach made Annie nervous, but she was unwilling to back down any longer. She
frowned and said, âTomorrow morning. Youâll still have one night to think about it.â
Aaron looked at his watch and said, âIf the city hall is still open at this time, I wouldâve made you
understand I donât need tonight to think about it at all.â
Annie turned her face away from him and said, âI wonât believe anything you say until we get the
marriage certificate tomorrow.â
In fact, Annie still did not think that Aaron would go through with it. She had seen the worst side of him,
and also she knew just how much he valued his freedom.
After all, why would a man who put his freedom above the rest be willing to forever tie himself to just
one woman?
âHeâs probably just bluffing,â thought Annie.
Aaron said no more on the topic. Instead, he smiled and said, âBy the way, Xante called me just now,
asking US if we want to join her, Corinne, and the kids for dinner later.â
Annie snapped out of her thoughts. âYou already told her youâre with me over the phone?â
Aaron thought for a moment before smiling and saying, âYou could say that.
Annie frowned. âWell, I might as well since I was going to look for Corinne as well. Where are they?â
Aaron nodded. âOkay. Well meet up with them after dinner here.â
Annie looked confused. âBut I thought we were going to have dinner with them.
So why do you still want to eat at my house? Canât we just go there?â
Aaron shook his head. âItâd be rude to leave when my in-laws worked so hard to cook for me. Plus, I
wouldnât want them to be disappointed.â
Annie was speechless. âDid he really call Mom and Dad his in-laws?â After Corinne picked up the kids,
she took them to a private dining restaurant.
Corinne, Xante, and Sunny walked into the restaurant each carrying a kid.
Jason followed them empty-handed. He wanted to carry a kid too, but there was not enough kid for him
to do so.
Corinne was the first to sit and order. She seemed impatient with the meal and wanted to finish it
quickly. She knew what Xante liked to eat, so she ordered it for her.
As for Sunny, he would eat whatever Xante liked to eat. He had no right to be picky about food there.
After ordering, Corinne handed the menu to Jason. âOrder whatever you want.
Itâll be my treat.â
Jason took the menu and said with a smile, âReally? Then donât mind if I do.
He added a few dishes, handed the menu back to the waiter, and gestured with a wave for him to leave
