Chapter 1587
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
Corinne stopped and turned. âYes? Do you want another goodbye kiss?â
Jeremy steered his wheelchair closer to her. âNo.â âWhat is it, then? Come on, I donât have all day.â
Jeremy looked at her and asked, âWho was the man that you went to dinner with?â
Corinne was stunned. She did not expect that he would stop her just to ask such a trivial question. âI
had dinner with Aaron, Xante, Jason, and the kids. Apart from the kids, I donât think you remember any
of the other three.â
Jeremyâs gaze relaxed a little. âSo it wasnât just you and the man in the photo?â
Corinne nodded. âNo! Did you really think I was on a date?â
Jeremy did not answer her; that was exactly what he thought.
âThen who was the man in your photo?â âJason Talbot. You two used to be friends.â
Jeremy got a very bad vibe from the name alone. âDoes he contact you often while I was missing in the
past three years?â
Corinne felt a little guilty. It was not that she had done anything wrong, but because it was inappropriate
of her to have dinner with Jason despite knowing he had a crush on her. However, it was not like she
did not try to get rid of him.
Heâd contact me from time to time,â replied Corinne, not hiding anything.
Jeremy felt there was more to the story. âIf heâs interested in you, you donât âShut up!â said Corinne
angrily. She knew the nonsense he was going to say, so she stopped him. âHow can you still think that
when Iâve made it clear how I feel about you? Donât you think I wouldâve accepted Jason if Iâm
interested in him? I wouldnât have stayed with your family with the kids and waited for you to come
home! Donât blame me for beating you up if you ever dare to push me into a relationship with someone
else!â
Jeremyâs shock was overtaken by a smile. âYouâve misunderstood me. What I was going to say was, if
heâs interested in you, you donât have to force yourself to see him for my sake.â
Corinne was embarrassed. âOh⦠I see.â
Jeremy smiled and said, âHow could I bear to push you into a relationship with someone else when you
donât mind me being disabled?â
Corinne smiled back at him. âSorry for jumping to conclusions.â
Jeremy came closer to her and said, âIf possible, I hope youâll never meet that man alone again in the
future.â
Corinne frowned. âIâm afraid thatâs going to be a bit difficult.â
Jeremyâs eyebrows furrowed. âWhy? I thought you were not interested in him?â
Being a man himself, he knew how men think, so he was worried that Jason would try to take
advantage of Corinne.
âHolden Group will be working on a project with Talbot Group soon, so itâll be impossible for me to have
no contact with him. But donât worry, I know where my boundaries are. I wonât meet up with him unless
itâs necessary.â
Jeremy nodded. âOkay.â
Corinne saw his face had darkened again, so she held his face in both hands and kissed his cheek.
âIâm very happy that youâre back, and youâre all I can think of. Please donât leave me hanging again
when I message you. Otherwise, Iâll worry that youâll disappear again! Jeremy, Iâm really scared. My
heart wonât be able to take it if you disappear again. Promise me that youâll reply to all my text
messages, okay?â
Jeremâs chest tightened. âIâm sorry. For misunderstanding you, that is.â
Corinne straightened up and said, âJust donât do it again! I can assure you that no man will get to me
since I waited for you for three whole years. And even if you disappear with another woman again, Iâll
still wait for you. After all, Iâm not like you men. Haha!â
