Chapter 1589
The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This time, Corinne opened the door and finally walked out. After leaving the bathroom, she leaned over
and kissed her son. Finally, she flipped over the balcony.
Jeremy slowly steered his wheelchair out of the bathroom. He looked thoughtfully toward the balcony,
then turned his head to look at the new set of pajamas on the bed.
Bryan tilted his head and said, âDaddy, Mommy seemed a little upset when she left, didnât she?â
Jeremy could also tell Corinne was not really happy when she left, but he had no way to go out and
chase her.
He sighed and asked Bryan, âWhat does your Mommy usually do?â
Bryan thought for a while before he replied, âWell⦠Mommy is usually busy with work, taking care of
US kids, and looking for our Daddy.â
Jeremyâs eyes deepened. âHas she been looking for him all this while?â
Bryan nodded and said with a sigh, âYes. Mommy has been looking for him ever since he went missing,
but heâs nowhere to be found.â
Jeremyâs eyes narrowed as an indescribable emotion rose up in his chest.
Bryan suddenly came closer and looked at him with hope-filled eyes. â Daddy, do you like my Mommy?â
Jeremy looked at his son. âWhy do you ask?â
Bryan raised his face proudly. âBecause I wonât be surprised if you do. After all, lots of men fell in love
with her from the moment they met her.â
Jeremyâs eyes darkened. âLots of men? Does your Mommy usually meet many men?â âNo. But she
does go out to work, so itâs only natural sheâll meet men.â âIs that so?â Jeremy frowned and asked, âSo
how come you know they like her?
How did those men express their love for your Mommy?â âEven this little kid can tell that those men are
harassing Corinne?â thought Jeremy.
âThey wonât stop calling or texting her. Of course, Mommy refuses to talk to them about anything other
than business,â answered Bryan truthfully.
Jeremyâs chest felt so tight that he grabbed the armrests of his wheelchair with both hands and
vehemently wished he could stand up then.
Aaron stopped his car on the side of the road outside the gate of the Talbotsâ residence. Jason got out
of the car with a smile and thanked him before entering the mansion.
The passenger window slowly rolled down, and Annieâs expression fell as she watched Jason walk in.
âItâs a pity Corinne doesnât like Jason. Otherwise, with Uncle Jeremy out of the picture, she wouldâve
been happy with him, tooâ¦â âUnfortunately, there is no if,â
said Aaron with a faint smile on his lips.â Corinne will never fall in love with another man.â
Annie turned to look at him. âYeah, I know. Thatâs why I feel so sorry for her. The chance of Uncle
Jeremy coming back is slim to none, yet she insists on waiting for him while raising the kids alone.â
Aaron raised an eyebrow. âWaiting for someone to come back can be a happy thing too if you love the
person very much.â
Annie did not think so. âThat only applies if thereâs an end to the waiting, which isnât the case for
Corinne. No one would think that waiting for someone who we donât even know is alive or dead is a
kind of happiness!â
Aaron stroked her cheek softly. âAll you worry about is Corinne. What about me, your boyfriend?â
Annie felt flustered and confused. âWhy should I worry you when youâre sitting here right in front of
me?â
Aaron took her hand and put it on his chest. âYou should worry about me because Iâm feeling very
nervous right now
