Chapter 110
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 110:
Kylaâs features flickered with emotion, but she quickly put on a placid smile.
âWhat are you implying? I havenât done anything,â she said, her innocence feigned, her eyelashes batting as if to ward off suspicion.
Exhausted by the pretense, Sadie snapped, âGet the fuck out!â Her finger jabbed toward the door, her tone icy enough to chill the air between them.
Kylaâs lips tightened, a glimmer of spite flashing in her eyes.
Yet, she held back her words, turning sharply to exit the room, leaving the tension thick in her wake.
Kyla strode out of the master bedroom, her intuition screaming that something was amiss.
There was no way Sadie and Jim didnât have something hidden between them.
Their hushed conversation made it clearâthey didnât want her to hear a word of it.
Leaning against the wall in the dimly lit hallway, she stared at the closed door of Sadieâs room, her resolve hardening.
She was determined to bring their scheme to light.
As minutes morphed into what felt like hours, her patience frayed at the edges.
The fact that Sadie hadnât stepped out of her room yet only made her suspicions grow stronger.
âPlaying the innocent, are we?â Kyla scoffed softly, her voice a whisper of venom. She was now certain; the duo was hiding something significant.
She was no longer willing to stand idly by, a dark plan beginning to crystallize in her mind.
Pulling out her phone with a determined flick of her wrist, she dialed Isabelâs number.
âHello, Mrs. Wall! Itâs been quite some time since we last spoke. Tell me, how have you been?â Kylaâs tone was dripping with feigned sweetness.

âOh, Kyla! Itâs been a while. Iâm doing just fine. What about you?â Isabelâs voice carried a genuine warmth.
âIâm fantastic, Mrs. Wall. Actually, a friend of mine just returned with some lovely souvenirs from overseas, and I immediately thought of you. Iâd love to bring them over to you,â Kyla said, her words coated in the thoughtful politeness one used with an elder.
âThatâs incredibly kind of you, Kyla,â Isabel responded, her voice tinged with eager anticipation.
âItâs truly my pleasure, Mrs. Wall. Are you available sometime soon?â Kyla probed, her tone light yet deliberate, weaving her plan with practiced ease.
âIâm free anytime, dear.â
âPerfect! I was actually planning to make dinner for Noah tonight. Why not join us? Itâs been ages since we all caught up, and Iâve missed you terribly,â Kyla continued, strategically. Dropping Noahâs name, Kyla knew well that Isabelâs affection for him would make this an offer she couldnât refuse.
Just as she anticipated, Isabel answered without hesitation, âThat sounds wonderful, dear. I havenât seen my son in what feels like forever. Iâll make my way over soon.â
âThatâs wonderful, Mrs. Wall. Iâll be waiting for you at Myrtlewood Estate.â A subtle, victorious smirk danced across Kylaâs lips, her eyes gleaming with scheming delight.
She hung up the phone with a sneer that barely touched her features, betraying her sense of imminent triumph.
âSadie, just wait. Iâll enjoy watching you fall,â she muttered under her breath.
She pivoted slowly, her gaze drifting scornfully toward the master bedroom.
Sadie could try all she wanted, but at the end of the day, she was just a fool playing chess with a grandmaster.
